Great set up
Fantastic light rod combo for an excellent price. I’ve been using it for bay bass. But freshwater bass or trout would be super fun on this set up as well.

Very Capable
As many others have said, amazing combo for a bargain. I decided to leave the 12lb line it came with on the spool, no problems casting a Carolina rig with 2 oz no roll sinker. To put some numbers to the picture, that’s a 36 1/2” redfish weighed in at 18lbs 2 oz. Took a few minutes to get him in but the rod, reel, and most importantly the drag performed perfectly. I will eventually update the line, but for now the original is doing just fine.

Average
Average quality. Where the pole connects in the middle CONSTANTLY twists on every cast no matter how tight i try to make the connection. I eventually had to wrap a piece of tape around it.

Good
I love this combo as its dirt cheap for high quality and for anyone just wanting a quick cheap travel rod this will do the job for most cases - my one con is the reel is a little heavy but its all preference

Value
The rod is very good. It is a true medium power/ medium action rod. I can feel every vibration of my chatter bait and yet is has enough back bone to pull them out of the cabbage. The reel is just ok. I have used it 3 times, made at least 100 casts , caught 8 -10 bass and have had no issues except the line. The line is thick and stiff with a lot of memory but worked ok once I stretched it out. It will be changed out in the spring.

Better than expected
I didn't expect to be able to catch huge fish because this pole is flimsy but I caught the fish you see in the picture with this pole and it didn't break. I would definitely recommend for someone looking for a decent rod and reel combo for cheap

I only received the bottom part of the rod with the reel
I only got the bottom part of the rod with the reel attached. Top part missing. Came in a box big enough to fit a dryer in. Not shipping it back because it will cost $12 to do so. Be a good whooping stick I reckon.

Great deal
the reel looks low end, but has nice action. Mine came with line, I’ll try it out before I replace it with high end stuff. The rod looks nice, nice looking guides. Both should last years!
