A Narrative of The Siege Of Delhi with an Account of The Mutiny at Ferozepore in 1857 [Illustrated Edition]

This is another first hand account by an officer who went through the Indian mutiny from the very beginning fortunately for him he was a member of an English regiment (60th foot) so was relatively safe.He is very descriptive in his accounts and I get the impression he was as humane as as Victorian soldier could be in those brutal times.A very informative read and very interesting as it gives a good insight how men went to war a 160 years ago.

Highly recommended. The maps, plans and photographs add incredible insights to the events recorded by this soldier. What an historic treasure!
