It's about style & inspiration, not how-to
This chunky book is brimming with wonderful pool inspirations for those interested in a high-style updated classic pool. Most of the pools shown are located outside of the US and likely would never be seen by more then a lucky few well-heeled individuals. Multiple photos of beautiful out-of-the-ordinary pools with close-up photos to reinforce the special aspects of each are perfect catalyst for your own creativity. These pools are beyond the scope of a typical suburban US backyard - if you're looking for ideas on a crazy shaped American-style pool with a water theme park slide then this book is not for you. It's also not a how-to build a pool book. This thick small-format picture book has minimum text which seems to reinforce the notion of gaining a glimpse into another world.

Best for the Coffee Table
As a pool contractor, I was looking for a book that offered many pictures of unique but practical pool designs and ideas. All I got from this book is a bunch of pictures showing the corner of the pool, very few of the pool in its entirety. It's mostly shots of the same pool from different angles. Most of the pools in here are simply rectangles and squares. I found a lot of unique pool landscaping and deck ideas but this book is not for the average pool designer. Although, I have to say, it does make a great coffee table book!

No Substance!
The tiny book is notjing more than some pictures of some average pools. Then the rest of the book it a translation into other languages!Save your money!
