BNTECHGO Black Aluminum Heat Sink Cooling Fin 4 Pcs 40mm x 40mm x 11mm

Bought this to slap onto my 3D Printer's stepper motors. I was happy to see that the thermal pads themselves seemed to be pretty decent quality, but I was also disappointed that they are unable to securely hold the heatsink weight.My verdict is that if you are purchasing this product as a heatsink for a small chip or transistor, it will likely do a pretty decent job, assuming that you don't expect a lot of movement or vibration. If you need to secure the heatsink to the item you are cooling in any direction that is fighting gravity, the included thermal pads likely won't do good for you.The pads were able to hold the weight of the heatsink when installed sideways for a few minutes, but ultimately fell off the motors I was cooling. It took even less time when I had the heatsink below the motor (so instead of sitting nicely on top of a surface, it was hanging beneath it).Since there is no easy way to modify this heatsink (I'd need to dremel off some fins, drill some holes, and finally get longer screws to secure it to the motor end caps to mount it properly), I secured it with zip ties for now. I haven't tested it, but I expect it to do a decent job, better than it not being there atleast.

After reading the previous reviews, I felt that I should write my own to help out the potential buyer. It seems as if the adhesive strips previously provided were not thermally conducting. I purchased these in March of 2018, and they now come with true thermal adhesive strips. I'm running my 3D printer now, and can feel heat flowing through the sinks, and the steppers are noticeably cooler. My only complaint stems from how well the strips stick. I just installed these tonight, and already question whether these will pass the test of time, especially in a vibration environment, like on a 3D printer. I will update the review to indicate whether they have. Hopefully they don't fall off! I bought some thermal adhesive as a backup. Also, be careful when applying; the strips are not fully cut, and will stick to one another. Either cut with scissors beforehand, or be very careful.

Works exactly as it should. I only took one star off for the way the thermal pads are packed. They come with two pads side by side with plastic on top and bottom. Would be easier if they had cut the plastic for each pad. But it was REAL thermal pads, they are quite sticky, and hold VERY well. Almost got a screwdriver to pry it apart. Unfortunately due to an error on my calculations these are too small for my project. They might handle a 10 watt led with active cooling, but only allow me to test a 50watt led. Overall a great buy and would buy again.

Heatsinks pretty much exactly what you'd expect.I was worried about the tape after reading reviews, and even more concerned once I received the package since the tape included seemed barely tacky and maybe only suited for a horizontal installation. I was worried that it would hold in a 3D printer vertical installation.It is double-sided. I started a print and let it run for a while to warm up the stepper motors, canceled the print and while the motors were hot applied the heatsinks holding it in place with some pressure for 10-30 seconds. It has been holding solidly for many prints now without any sign that the heatsinks will come off. I'm not sure if it required the pressure and/or the heat to set the tape but it works solidly.

Excellent cooling properties. We run use the on Ender 3 and Ender 5 units. Reduces the heat by at least 50%. The adhesion is poor though. We just wire tied them on and they work fine. We own alot of sets of these and will order more as we add printers.

The one chromecast ultra I was using as a video source to an NDI converter was getting so ridiculously hot that it wasn't working correctly. Slapped one of these on the top and bottom and now it runs at a temp that is only warm to hold when there is no air flow over it. Also purchased a small USB powered fan that lightly blows on the unit and this combo keeps it cool.Worked out perfectly, couldn't have planned it better if I tried! Will be revisiting these the next time a componenent decides to start overheating!

I think this was a good product. I'm not sure about the double sided thermal tape. I used this for a Peltier project and the prototype worked well. Huge radiator/condenser coil attached to it though. I think thermal paste would've been ideal long term but It was convenient having the mounting tape . I think the material are aluminum but are meant to look copper or brass. Which I thought there were but for my purposes this was fine

Seems well made, adhesive thermal pads seem to hold well. I used one so far for a heatsink on a 486 class CPU, it's nearly the perfect size for that application, nearly dead on for the size of the OEM CPU heatsinks of the time. It's keeping my AMD 5x86 133 (PR 75) perfectly cool at stock speeds, though I don't know that I'd attempt an overclock with this heatsink.

I really like these heatsinks. Also used them with 40mm x 20mm fans and the screws fit right in the fins perfectly. It cut down my vram temps from 110 degrees to 88 degrees. Thank you so much for providing these! Very handy!

I received 4 heat sinks in the box. Double side glued tape included and sticks well. I installed one of them on my Chromecast. The size is perfect to fit behind the wall mounted screen.Heat dissipation is good for me.

Not even a little bit. it is just a soft and gummy piece of rubber that at one time may have been sticky.

Seem to work decently. The adhesion isn’t great. Maybe it will change with some time. Otherwise if you’re looking for a simple cheap heat sink this may be for you

Well they are dissipating heat quickly but they keep falling off , need better adhesion
