The carburetor fit and worked perfect.

The engine is only one year old and had been running about 6 months previously. I assumed since I could not start the engine that old gas had fouled the carburetor. I first drained all the old gas from tank and carburetor and filled the tank with new recommend fuel so the fuel type and age of the gas would not be a problem. I verified that fuel flows from the tank into the bottom of the replacement carburetor and that the flow worked properly. This replacement carburetor fits on the engine and mechanical linkages from the engine fit the carburetor but the new replacement carburetor is not exactly a replacement for the original carburetor since it does not have a spring that returns the input throttle to the output of the carburetor to the idle position. This replacement carburetor did not solve the problem with the failed stock carburetor which I had suspected had become dirty and clogged. I also checked to ensure that the engine had spark to the spark plug since I have spark tester that can visually be seen when turning the engine over with the manually starter. With a lot of tries, the engine would not start. I next used two techniques to get the engine started and keep it running but as soon as those temporary aids were stopped the engine would not keep running since the engine is starved for fuel. I can start the engine with a short blast of ether spray into carburetor and keep it running with external gas spray into the carburetor to assist, which worked momentarily, but the engine failed to keep running after I quit spraying gas directly into the carburetor. I will buy a different brand of carburetor to see if it fixes the fuel problem. I do not recommend the TOPEMAI 212CC Carburetor.

Read few reviews on this carb and was worried because I ordered it first than read them but everything worked great for my application. I have a 3-4 year old predator engine on my dethatcher that I left gas in and it gummed up the carb. I could get the jets out because they were stuck and they got stripped so I needed a new carb. Ordered this, came next day and was a direct bolt on. Didn’t have to do anything in terms of setup, simply bolted it on and it fired right up, idled correctly and ran when switched to high on the run lever. Can’t complain about this like others have, all I can suggest is there are other equivalent ones on Amazon that come with a spark plug as well for 2 bucks cheaper than this one was.

As per the norm with Amazon they don't make sure these vendors are validating the products in the descriptions and making sure they do match the fitment the claim to. I purchased this kit for the predator lawn mower moter I have and in the description it claims to be an exact replacement for the OEM carborator it does not fit in fact the bolt pattern is way off. I didn't bother with the return because I am fed up with Amazon's bottom line of selling anything to make a buck no quality control at all to assure return patronage.

Don't let my header fool you, this carb is actually as good as the internet and some of these go kart/minibike sites say. I recieved my first one after ruining my stock carb running iso alcohol(yeah, don't do it!) and found somewhere, inside the throat, a defect that wouldn't let my Predator212 get past 3600rpms...stall and die, stall and die and so on. Inspected and went over everything twice and gave customer service a message. 2 days later, a new carb was delivered and my problems were solved!Works even better with a bored out emulsion tube and #37 jet! Now I need a better mounting plate as torque got bumped up a ft/lb or two and a higher compression head to level out the richness still at high rpms.
