This sure back memories.
Loved the book and the stories. Mini biographies of all who worked at the "TAM" brought back many happy memories. Babs use to live across the street from us. I sort of expected to see a picture of Red and Agnes talking to Babs. Anita was a favorite of my Dad. Janet "the pizza maker" always had a smile when I picked up the take out. My oldest brother got his start in Hotel and Restaurant Management working in the kitchen under Ralph's supervision. My youngest brother had his bachelor party in the upstairs party room. The Gondola Salad bar was the best. I have tried several of the recipies of old family favorites and most met with family approval. (I need to delete salt when making the Chicken Romano. The prosciutto I have available is very salty.) Chicken Romano was my Mom's favorite. I bought other copies of the book for family members as gifts and they loved it. Was surprised to find that my youngest sister had attended St. Mary's with Lora Lee. I really miss the TAM on all my trips back to Upstate NY from California.

Memories of my childhood
Ecobelli’s was my family’s favorite restaurant when we moved to Saratoga in the 50s. I found the cookbook after the rest of my family was gone. Good recipes. Good food. Good memories.

Laurina's Kitchen: more than recipes!
For an Italian woman, cooking is natural. Unfortunately, I'm only half Italian and not the half that cooks! Still, I love this book because it's more than recipes; it is a family story, filled with beautiful pictures of people and places and food. The book is not too big or overwhelming, and the number and variety of recipes is just right. My favorite page is the story of "Lena" who reveals the inner soul of her sauce! Spaghetti sauce has always been the one recipe, passed down from my grandmother, that I love to cook. With the holidays approaching, I look forward to trying a few new recipes from Laurina's Kithchen!
