Don’t waste your money!
The idea of these is great, the convenience is top notch. We just built a brand new house and had two of these installed. Just over a year later, neither works. The screen on one is defective (looks shattered, maybe from fluctuating temperatures). The other, the mechanical features inside have given up with no warning. You then can’t get in your house without a locksmith coming to replace everything. Weiser won’t warranty anything so these two very expensive locks are both coming off and we are installing Yale locks. You know the saying, when you pay for quality you only cry once. Don’t pay for these!

Excellent HomeKit compatible lock
This is my 2nd unit that I have purchased. I was looking for a front door lock that was HomeKit compatible and was looking at the Assure Lever but unfortunately there are sellers on Amazon that ask for absolutely ridiculous prices. This unit is very well built, very easy to install and integrate in to my Apple ecosphere. If you are looking for such a lock that is compatible with HomeKit, this should be your choice. The only minor complaint is the noise when it locks. But on the flipside it is also good to hear it auto-lock!

Calling this a steaming pile of crap would be an insult to crap
Have you ever bought a product so bad, so crap-tacular that you feel sorry for the people who work at the company? One day an engineer at Weiser will read this and remember having a meeting with his boss, telling him that there's no way they can make something so horrible and put the Weiser name on it. Except the screen the rest of the assembly feels like it was sourced from a dumpster in China. Everything is made of metal so soft a 5-year-old could strip the screws. It has the craftsmanship of a Yugo with parts that are literally from toys. Remember those remote control cars you had when you were a kid, this has the same little 3V motor inside, a literal $3 motor with a plastic gear. That's all that stands between you and a home invasion, parts from Toys R Us.I can't fathom the amount of money they must make on these. They're blinding consumers with promises of the convenience a "Smart Lock" offers. What they don't tell you is that even the app is marginal and you'll have to run the setup several times before it works. Thank god Bezos has a good return policy, because this abortion is going back. Weiser, you can do better. What happened to your name? I get it, you want market share, Google and Yale are in bed together and making a product people will buy blindly, so why build something so horrific? Would the CEO of spectra brands, David M. Maura use this on his house? David, Davey, Big D... Pickup the phone and call one of the engineers at Remington and that guy on youtube called Lock Picking Lawyer and get these guys to make something worthy of the Weiser name. Weiser has been around since 1904 and I would sooner trust a depression area lock to protect my home than this polished turd.

Does it's job- doesn't work when I am away from home
We got this for our other home, and to make sure that our grandma is safe.Decided to get this over the NEST lock, but sadly, if I have to make a choice with this and the nest lock I would definitely get the nest lock instead...Here is why, when set up by my beautiful wife while we visited grandma. There were some annoyance because the lock couldn't be screwed on well on the other side with the window popping up but she managed it (:She kept getting this error sign at first and she was almost going to just return it and get a nest LOL...When she finally installed it, downloaded the app, added all the family members to the lock and tested it a couple times to see if it works. It did, the app also responses well.LOUD locking and unlocking sound, as well as when clicking the codes. After a couple weeks, the main annoyance is that it's very hard to click the codes ... and it sometimes doesn't even click the right number...2, does not work on cloud... we tired it so many times to unlock the door when we were just down the street. App says unavailable ...3, the app does not work unless we are at that home. MUST be connected to the same wifi ALL the time. . .

Almost perfect 🔑
There are few prerequisites to a good experience for this product. First is proximity to Apple TV. If you plan to use it with remote unlocking be sure that Apple TV is nearby as Bluetooth connection through floors might be weak. Not the issue in my setup as front door is on the same level.Second thing...batteries. I didn't have much luck with rechargeable hi-end batteries but recommended Alkaline (I bought Duracell Quantum) are working great. After a month I have 70% power left (5-10 unlocks daily).Overall I'm really pleased, but...Not having the option to automate unlocking / locking with geofencing is a serious mistake. I understand security concern and HomeKit triggers question to lock/unlock but that works against the idea of automation. I don't want to take my eyes off the road to lock my door. I want it AUTOMATED.Another bummer is speed / noise. Its not bad but definitelly there is a room for improvement.Overall $200 is not bad for this product. But the real sweet spot for functionality / value would be more in $150 range.
