Far better than the plastic bumper 'spikes' and difficult to reach adjuster
The other chainsaws I have have a nice adjuster on the side whereas the MS170 has its buried away in a really difficult to reach spot. The bumper 'spies' as well tend to just rub the log rather than bite in and guide the cut through. This kit seemed great to give bit more bite and also allow me an easier time adjusting the blade tension. The bumper fitted on without any problem and the tensioner slotted in without issue as well. The only thing to keep an eye on is where the old adjuster 'screw' was is now an open void as there isn't a plastic cap to seal it off like some sets have. I'll have to dig something out to put in the hole to stop it filling with wood and oil. The new tensioner is shorter in that respect. I've not used the new bolts and nuts as the old ones are okay. That tensioner doesn't come with a screw to fix it so I've used one of the screws from the second bumper spike set. If you've got this set to add the bits to 2 chainsaws then you would need to find a screw that fits elsewhere. So it is great, but the shortcomings are not worth a star off in my mind as it does what I wanted it to.

The packaging was OK
The spikes are OK but the tensioners are of very poor quality, I cannot recommend them and have purchased OEM at a tenner.

Tensioner is useless and not fit for purpose
The tensioner is absolutely useless, to stop the tensioner from falling past the adjustor the saw needs to be turned upside down while you adjust the chain.

Perfect addition to a saw
Nice quality addition to a saw. Felling spikes are nice and sharp and the side adjuster works great. Fits my Stihl MS170 perfectly!

Griffe OK mais tendeur de qualité moyenne.
Aussitôt reçu, aussitôt mis en place sur une MS170:Griffe (la raison principale de mon achat) : rien a redire. Mise en place facile. Les vis ont un diamètre parfait. Qualité prix plus que correcte.Tendeur: il ne m'inspire pas vraiment confiance. La visserie et le plastique font un peu cheap. On a l'impression qu'il manque quelque chose sur l'avant. A voir s'il tient bien la tension après une ou plusieurs coupes. Au moindre doute je reviendrais a la pièce d'origine et mettrais à jour mon commentaire.
