I’d say that’s a good sign. Mine showed blue for a few days after recent purchase, (I do have a lot of air purifying plants too) so turned it off, then last week, I came downstairs and could smell woodsmoke instantly so I turned on and it turned red for a while then back to blue. I bought it for this reason as there’s a bungalow at the back of me, about 100yds away, which ‘lights’ up their woodburner and I can smell it in the house with windows and doors closed.

Q: For a flat, should i buy a few small one (200s) or a big one (400s)?

I bought both recently. The large one for my wife’s classroom and small for our house. I wish I bought the 400s again. We used the 400s in the house to see how it worked before my wife took it to work. Then got the 200s. It doesn’t have the same smart features as the 400s, so I’d say for large and go home! Lol

Q: Can this be run in the small workshop/garage where she wood cutting happens?

I think it's more of a domestic unit. It would have an effect but the filters wouldn't last as long. For household use it's good however.
