Very good multiplayer game
Honestly, the best multiplayer game you can get. There are so many kinds of minigames and characters. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of games. But I think the game is so fun, and the winner tends to be unpredictable when you include specialized stars, so I love it regardless.

Great Family fun
I have two boys 3.5 and 8.5. We play this together as a family and the kids really enjoy it. Some of the games are harder for the 3.5 year old, but there is a lot he can play and wins by luck sometimes too. We play both the mini game version and when we have more time we play the board game version. I really enjoy this and like that my kids can play together

The Best Mario Party In Ages
I haven't really enjoyed a Mario Party since 7 or 8. I thought maybe I had become jaded and only liked the old ones due to nostalgia. The ones after that changed up the formula, but unfortunately, not for the better. Super Mario Party, the previous Switch Mario Marty, had a lot of good ideas and was a return to classic form. It even had good minigames on average. But bad balance (and that's saying something for this series) having only four lackluster maps really drained the fun out of the experience. I'm happy to say that Superstars delivers on the complete experience, despite being clear nostalgia bait. The minigame selection is for the most part perfect. The boards are interesting classics, with slight tweaks to make them more reasonable for items and innovations after the game they occurred in. Even the hub world has heart that's been sorely missing. The items are better balanced in general. The master CPU AI is not completely pathetic. They even made lucky spaces actually useful (I'm still mad that in Super Mario Party nobody thought that awarding only 4 coins on a lucky space would make them worth less than a blue space on the final 5 turns, what were they thinking). In short? It might be the best Mario Party of all time. Highly recommend.

A worthy modern remake, and a return to form.
Are you a Mario Party fan who has been let down by the series since 9, and felt Super Mario Party was a poor imitation? If so, this game is for you! The best way to describe Superstars is to think of it like a remixed greatest hits album. The game consists of five boards from the first three games, as well as 100 mini-games from all the games. One might hear this and think: why should I spend $60 on this when I can get Mario Party 2 for a fraction of that price? You would be right: but this game has full online multiplayer. That's right, you can play Mario Party online with your friends. In addition, there are some nice quality-of-life improvements to the games: - Peach's Birthday Cake has the Bowser seed in a different location, and going to Bowser is actually a good shortcut to get to the star. - You can now fast-forward through the previously unskippable board cutscenes. - The items that the shops sell are now tailored to the board. There are a lot more warp blocks in Woody Woods, and more Chomp Whistles in Horror Land. - Some of the mini-games have been revamped. Dizzy Dancing now has several notes to collect, and Mushroom Mix-Up now has different patterns on the mushrooms, allowing color-blind players to play along much easier. - The game tells you how many spaces you are away from the star, and at junctions, will mark where you will land. - In the last five turns, the board music will change to a more frantic remix. Yet there are also some strange quirks in the game: - Some of the mini-games seem redundant. There are two "count the enemies" games, and two "jump on enemies to ascend the highest" games. - This one brings back the Lucky Spaces from Super Mario Party, where a roulette wheel gives you either coins, an item, or reduces the price of the star. I'm not certain if I like this feature or not. There are so many of these spaces on the board that it seems to slow the gameplay down. It also makes winning mini-games not as necessary. - The AI in this game can be monumentally stupid, even at the highest difficulty level. I've seen cases where they will miss shortcuts to the star, or use items for short-term gain instead of thinking ahead. - This game has achievements, and some of them involve being in the top 1000 on online records for certain mini-game feats. Knowing how competitive players are, some of these achievements are going to become downright impossible after a few months. Should you buy it? If you have never owned a Mario Party game before, and this sounds interesting to you, then definitely buy it. However, if you already own the N64 games, consider whether the online play and quality-of-life improvements make it all worthwhile. Perhaps wait until Black Friday for the price to go down.
