No, no metal bars. Comfy padded back with adjustable Velcro straps. Very comfy and pulls the shoulders back to correct posture. It does give me a relief on shoulders and back of neck. I’m very pleased with it personally.

can you workout in it?

Don’t think so only should wear it for 30 minutes each night or day

I have a defibrilator in situ.Is there anything that could affect the device.I have it fitted on the left side about7c below my shoulder at the front

I don't think it would affect your de fib. I ordered it for my 84 yesr old Mum but she finds it too difficult to use. You could always try it and return it if you didn't think it suitable
