Easy for baby to hold and transition with
I’ve always liked Philips Avent bottles, and this trainer cup has been a great next step for my 7-month-old. The size is perfect for little hands—she can hold it on her own easily, which makes feeding more independent. The natural response nipple flows smoothly without leaks, and the option to switch between the fast-flow nipple and soft spout makes it very versatile as a transition cup. The design feels sturdy but lightweight, and cleaning is simple since the pieces come apart easily. It’s a good bridge between bottle and sippy cup, especially for babies starting to self-feed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something that grows with your baby.

Best for bottle to sippy cup transition
This is a perfect transition into a sippy cup for babies already using Avent bottles. We are doing baby led weaning and encouraging him to self feed. This cup is prefect. It doesn't leak and has a good sippy cup training nipple for transition.

Perfect Transition Cup for Baby's Journey from Bottle to Sippy
My 7-month-old was struggling with traditional sippy cups, so I decided to try this Philips AVENT Natural Trainer Cup. After using it for three weeks, I'm genuinely impressed with how well it bridges the gap between bottle and sippy cup. The natural response nipple is genius - it only releases liquid when my baby actively sucks, just like breastfeeding. This prevented the constant dripping and leaking I experienced with other transition cups. The soft spout that comes with it is equally well-designed, with a similar natural flow that helped my little one understand how to drink independently. What I particularly love about this cup: - The 5oz size is perfect for shorter drinking sessions and fits easily in the diaper bag - The ergonomic handles are actually useful - my baby figured out how to grip them within days - All parts are dishwasher safe (top rack) and super easy to clean with no hard-to-reach corners - The anti-colic valve works effectively - no more post-drink fussiness Minor drawbacks: - The price point is slightly higher than basic sippy cups - The clear measurement marks can be hard to read, especially when in a hurry - The lid can be a bit tricky to align perfectly on the first try Pro tip: Start with the natural response nipple for a week or two before switching to the soft spout. This gradual transition worked wonders for us. While it's pricier than basic options, the quality and thoughtful design make it worth every penny. This cup has made our transition from bottle to sippy significantly smoother than I expected. If you're dealing with a resistant baby or just want to make the switch as gentle as possible, I highly recommend giving this trainer cup a try. Bottom line: A well-designed transition cup that actually delivers on its promises. Just remember to hand-tighten the lid carefully to prevent any leaks.

One bottle, multiple nipples—exactly what I needed
This is exactly what I was looking for. I really like that the same bottle can be used with different nipples and tops. I wanted a training cup to help my baby gradually learn how to drink from a straw. I hadn’t used Avent bottles before because I thought the nipples might be too soft, but after actually using them, my baby accepted them very well. I’m really happy with this purchase.

This is a great sippy cup for training babies to feed themselves and drink from faster flows. The sippy attachment was very fast, it has one line cut in the top and any pressure on it and the water goes everywhere. The nipple attachment however is fast but not too fast and is what they’re used to right now so learning to drink by themselves is a much easier transition with the handles and nipple. When they don’t spit out water as often (or really when they learn that they don’t have to suck very hard to drink) switching them to the sippy top will be perfect. Right now my biggest concern is just teaching him to lean or lay back to get the water from the cup to his mouth, after that things will be smooth sailing. The different tops is really what’s great about this.
