One Of My Favorites
Just like beef is one of my favorites I make so many dishes with this plant-based meat alternative if you prepare it right it will be juicy and tender. I use it for beef stew, stir fry, beef fried rice, pepper steak, cheese steak subs, barbeque beef, and much more. It freezes well and it doesn't change the texture.

As the description emphasizes, this is unflavored, and you need to either marinade it or cook it in an flavored stock. Those who criticize it for lack of flavor should read the package! We have used it in a variety of ways, for example, vegan meatballs. In this case we flavored it with a variety of Italian herbs, tomato paste, and stock. What's great about it is that you can make it taste how you like. The name the manufacturer gave to it is a bit disingenuous, you can make it taste like chicken, beef or lamb if you are skilled enough. If you are vegan and looking for variety, this is a great product to have in your larder. It keeps a long time, and rehydrates quickly.

Prepare overnight for best results soaking up flavors
Great for tacos, nachos many small pieces of tvp in my first bag not sure of the value as of yet since I'm still learning to work with it.

Great fake steak, great texture.
Really good beef texture. Smaller chunks. Prepare according to instructions, my best results were rehydrating them in some better than bouillon and a bit of Worcestershire sauce for about an hour, then squeeze out as much liquid as possible before adding to stir fry.

Great vegan meat substitute
This product is a great vegan substitute in any recipe where you would normally use small pieces of beef. The product itself doesn't have a lot of flavor, so it's best used in recipes with sauces and spices. I use it in vegetarian Chili where it lends extra texture and protein. It tends to come in smaller chunks than pictured, smaller than the same company's chicken product. Do not expect it to taste like beef. Easy to use, it rehydrates in boiling water.
