This is a great atlas
I found the maps easy to read and the information very interesting. This is just what I was looking for. Highly recommend even good for young students.

Concise
I bought the book for my son, who’s incarcerated. He is enjoying the book and reading it. The book was on his wish list. He likes to reference the book with world history. Thanks

Comprehensive and concise
This atlas is well organized and visually worthy of National Geographic. It's important to know that the "concise" part is that the maps, while very informative, are by continent rather than by each country. There are multiple maps for each continent, plus some ocean floor maps--which is awesome--a bit of country data, and even information about the solar system and beyond. If you want detailed maps of each country, though, you may want a less concise version.

Absolutely beautiful book
for a grandson with an interest in geography and everything that goes with it, this is the book. Shows not only about land mass, names etc, but talks about populations, languages, the solar system. Nice big book packed full of knowledge, beautifully presented. He is very happy with this gift!

Fascinating, with great re-readability
Bought as a gift - the recipient loves maps and was so happy! It's definitely a coffee table type book - it's way too big for a standard-sized bookshelf. The photos are clear and the cover is a lot more attractive than the third edition's was (I originally found the third version in a bookstore, and found this version from looking it up). I'd recommend this to any map or geography enthusiast.

Excellent and concise information
Very informative. My only issue is to provide a comprehensive amount of information the writing is small. My suggestion is, buy a magnifying glass. I did.

Disappointing Atlas - I'd Honestly Choose Another One Next time.
I have an atlas that's a good twenty-five (25) years old that I like better than this one. Although the country borders and whatnot are all updated, I found the city names and other texts very difficult to read, and the borders on most maps are hard to discern. The details provided for each country are very minimalistic and don't provide a lot of detail. The previous one, which is also from National Geographic had much more interesting details but without cluttering the page with a lot of text.I am disappointed with this atlas and if I had it to do over again, I would choose another one.

Smart purchase for any student or fan of maps
Pretty simple. If you're looking for an Atlas you just can't do any better than National Geographic. Large coffee table size format. Lots of different maps from political to topological to resources. I'd have killed to have this when I was in school.
