a good start for a budding cryptozoologist.
This is definetly one of the greatest cryptozoological books i have ever read.It is well written, if a little bit more on the paranormal side but offers a brillant insight to the great study of cryptozoology. It dosen't delve into the more 'famous'cryptids (i:e Bigfoot, Loch ness monster.)It then talks about more mythological beasts (Dragons,Kappas etc.)and the it starts to talk about more unkown cryptis sightings (Beast of the Bray road, ant he boston lemur etc.)but it is still extremely high up on my cryptozoological book-shelf!(this is written by g.maginn's son(the greatest cryptozoologist of all time!)

Lousy
Opportunity for an interesting book about mysterious animals completely squandered by inclusion of ufology, folklore and obvious hoaxes and exclusion of Yeti, Nessie and other obvious cases. Daft personal anecdotes, lack of skepticism and bizarre suggestions (time travellers, inter dimensional travel) hardly help; nor does the fact that the book opens with skyfish, which had been discredited years before this book was published. A fun look at US folklore, but don't come to it expecting any science.
