Why is there a hole on the back botton left

This iPod touch case fits iPod touch 7th generation, iPod touch 6th generation, iPod touch 5th generation. There is a hole on the back left, so it can be compatible with iPod touch 5th generation`s ipod touch loop.

Will this case allow the iPod to work with a lightning charger dock (i.e. is charger edge of case thin enough to allow iPod to plug in)?

In my opinion I would say yes the case is thin at the bottom and would not interfere with the connection, hope this helps you 🎈
