Do I rinse, apply iron remover, rinse and then wash vehicle?

1. Wash & dry car.  This step also includes a) applying bug & tar remover (from road resurfacing, asphalt repair, etc.), and b) wiping off the lower panel areas where there's more dirt accumulated from puddles, etc.  This is necessary, but also back breaking & boring work.  Do it when spring arrives, in cool temperatures.
2. Apply this Iron spray, and per the instructions, wait 2-5 minutes, but don't let it dry in the sun.  If you car is NOT garaged, spray it once a year.  My cars are garaged, and after the first use, the next year didn't show much iron (not much purple).
3. If you want to clay your car, do it after the iron spray.  Rinse off the iron spray, and apply car wash, but DON'T rinse.  Use the car wash as the lubricant for claying.  Apply more car wash water as lubricant on the part of the car you are claying (you don't need a special spray).  My garaged cars showed only a little contaminant after 1-year, but claying in cool spring weather annually seems worth the effort.  Claying adds 30-45 minutes.  If you drop the clay piece, throw it out (dirt in the dropped clay will scratch your car big time).
4. After claying, rinse off your car and dry it thoroughly.
5. Add a paint protectorant (sealant, wax, - it goes by several names).  I use NuFinish as a top coat because I have a bottle left over, and it has a soupy body that fills minor scratches.  At the next wash, I add Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Spray as the sacrificial layer.  TW Hybrid Ceramic layer will last only about 2-3 commercial car washes --  it's a big lie that it lasts longer (2 back-to-back coats will last 1-yera IF you don't wash your car for a year; otherwise, 2 back-to-back sprays will only last 3-4 commercial car washes by my experience).  It's because the Ceramic spray is about 2.5 oz of liquid (3 oz spray, and 0.5 oz wiped off by thru drying)  2.5 oz of spray that has body of water isn't going to adhere despite the lie that the manufacturer & YouTubers say.

Question 2

Can I use this on a dark color vehicle?

You can however it will be difficult to see the results because iron and fallout deposits show on lighter colored vehicles.  Dark colored vehicles we recommend claying your vehicle for decontamination. Or if you can see the rust colored fallout on your vehicle even with a dark finish this product would be good to use. Question 3

The instructions on the bottle state to wash the car first then park in the shade. Do I dry first before applying or do I leave the car wet?

Accepted Answer

The purpose of the shade is so the product does not dry on the paint.  Washing first isn’t bad, but the product needs to be thoroughly rinsed off so as to not damage clear coat.  I’d suggest rinsing the car off first, spraying on when still wet (to avoid accidentally letting the product dry), then washing and rinsing afterwards, to be sure all iron remover is washed off the paint.  That’s my personal workflow that I’ve found to work well.

I'm using this for pre-coating phase for gyeon. is it much better to use same product of gyeon or is this the same substitute / properties? thanks

Its personal preference and you can use a collection of brands to get the results that you want, match the difficulty or ease of use that you prefer, complete a specific purpose, and meet your quality expectations. Since this step is prior to any paint correction or coating/protection application steps you would be able to use this product prior to the Gyeon coating phases.  This product will pull embedded iron deposits and contaminants out of your paint. Thanks!
