Death on the Boardwalk (Myrtle Beach Mystery) Paperback – February 2, 2021

Death on the Boardwalk is the first installment of the Myrtle Beach Mystery Series. Clark Thomas, the main character, is relatable and very likeable. His relationships with his parents, coworkers, and customers show the depth of his character. Having been a widower for two years, I wonder as the series develops if he will have a love interest. It is an intriguing mystery story with just enough red herrings to keep it interesting. I like the personalities of both detectives Gomez and Moody; they complement each other well. Detective Gomez is my favorite of the two. She is professional in both appearance and attitude yet caring. The author has a unique way of writing which I prefer. In this first book of the series, a man finds the dead body of a woman behind his place of business. The methods he uses in helping the police find the killer are rudimentary but well written. I was able to get an advanced copy of this book & was hooked from the start, a mystery that keeps you guessing and just when you think you have it all figured out, you are wrong! Looking forward to the series!I received a review copy and freely leave this honest review.

Held my interest, will order the next in the series

My son in law read both of these books while vacationing in Surfside Beach SC. We finished them in just a couple days. Just couldn’t put them down. These are about the best mysteries we both have read. Can keep you in suspense the whole book. You will never guess who done it..and will be shocked at the end. I read many books while at the pool or beach, but these two are no comparison to anything else we have read. I hope everyone that buys these, in book form or Kindle will write a review here for him. Caleb Wygal has an art in his writings and needs to be made more known, and we can do that with reviews. I’ve told all my reader friends about him and they are excited to read them as well. I always buy in book form because it’s easier for me to grab the book instead of my Kindle. We cannot wait for August 22 when book three comes out. Hoping book 4 is already being written..he is by far my favorite author.

I had high hopes for this book because I live near Myrtle Beach. The book has a few typos and spelling errors which made me think it was self published. The author had too many local references in the book and it felt like he was trying to mention every business on the boardwalk. This book was just okay. I doubt I would read anything else by this author.

I really enjoyed this mystery. Kept me on my toes until the very end. Especially when the detective told Clark she thought his wife didn’t die of natural causes. Hence, I’ve ordered books 2 and 3!! Looking forward to the next murder mystery!!! Love the Myrtle Beach area and other surrounding beaches. It’s my stomping grounds from years, and I mean years, back.

Still reading but I am enjoying it very much . It jumped right in on the action. It is very good read.

I liked the fact that this us set in Myrtle Beach where I live. I loved the characters; this book has plenty of quirky characters and I believe I have met them all. I was suspicious of the killer early on but there were so many with various motives. At times I felt we were just wandering through a maze but it all comes together in the end. I found it hard to put down as I had to find out who did it. This book will appeal toca wide range of mystery readers, especially those who live in or visit Myrtle Beach.

Death on the Boardwalk is a great, easy, read! I live in Myrtle Beach and bought this as one of my books to read on the beach and loved it. You don't have to live in MB to enjoy this book. It has great characters and a plot that keeps you turning the pages. I've also read the second book in this series, Death Washes Ashore, and I'm hooked. I'm a huge fan of James Patterson and John Grisham. Caleb Wygal is going to be the next great author on The NY Times Bestseller list.
