It's okay. I didn't expect any better than 'okay'. case doesn't quite stay closed.
It works. If you need to make rough measurements, this is fineit got a bit off after a few measurements - had to close and re-zero.Most annoying - the case doesn't stay closed on it's own. Requires a rubber band.

Excellent accuracy for budget calipers
First, let me put this review in context. I am a high school shop teacher that teaches machining, welding and wood working, so the points that I make here may not be relevant to your application of the calipers.I purchased one set of these digital calipers to evaluate if they will be good graduation presents for my students. Here is what I found.Out of the box, outside measurements were consistently either exact 0.0000” or accurate to within 0.0005” with my 0.5”, 1”, 2” and 4” gauge blocks.I spent 15 minutes repeatedly extending and retracting the calipers over their entire range. After 15 minutes, the calipers still zeroed perfectly when closed and kept their previously observed accuracy. Movement smoothed out slightly after this “break in” period but did not become sloppy. After 15 minutes of moving the calipers, I had irritated the side of one of my fingers. It had been rubbing on the edge of the beam. Looking more closely at the edges of the calipers, none of them have been “broken” and are quite sharp. There are no burrs visible, but the lack of a broken edge like you would find on more expensive calipers does make repeated handling less enjoyable, but it is not really a factor for occasional use.The screen is has a strange black border around the outside edge, but it only affected reading the numbers at a fairly sharp angle. The numbers themselves are clear, crisp and had good contrast. The battery compartment is screwed shut. I appreciate this as a school teacher so that the hatch and battery doesn’t go missing, but the extra effort needed to change batteries (it came with one in the calipers and two spares as well as a micro phillips screwdriver) may be annoying to a private owner. The case it comes in seems to provide enough protection for a school shop environment if it latches properly. The case is slimmer than other cases and the corners are chamfered, making it easier to slip into a pocket. The latches however are molded with the case and they don’t install a huge amount of confidence when they barely click as they latch. I think a heavy elastic band might be a good investment to ensure the calipers stay put in their case.In conclusion, I am very impressed with the function of these digital calipers. The accuracy and movement are good, and the overall shape is comfortable to hold, but the sharp edges do make it less enjoyable for prolonged use. I plan to buy more and give them out as graduation presents.Additional note: the case is so close fitting for the calipers that the calipers MUST be fully closed to drop into the case. This means that the jaws are touching each other when stored (something I teach my students not to do with expensive measuring equipment). The calipers also turn on when the jaws are moved so it turns the calipers on when they are placed in the case if the jaws were left slightly open. Not a deal breaker, but another example of what you are not paying extra for.

Almost 5 star
My only complaint is that the roller/dial whatever you wish to call the mechanism for opening and closing the calipers does not work like analogue calipers I have had where it grips more. These basically slide open and closed without needing the dial. I would prefer either the dial then not be there, or that the dial works more like a gear where if you open close without using it then it spins along with the manipulation. Other than that, these are great. Easy to use. Seem to be accurate, though I have no standards to test them on (read the teacher's review for that info). Can't beat the price for this level of accuracy. I tried a model from harbor freight that cost almost as much but had far less accuracy.

Awesome!
About a year ago I bought a cheap plastic caliper for only a few dollars less than this one. It was flimsy and I lost the battery cap early on, so the battery kept falling out. This one is a WOW on every level. It's sturdy stainless steel, it comes in nice case with a few extra batteries and a screwdriver, which is used to secure the battery cap. The head rolls smoothly on the rails. Honestly, there's no reason to settle for plastic when you can have a unit of this quality for a couple of extra dollars.

Nice, but it is not for exacting use.
It is great for my hobbies but it's a little clunky if you're doing something that calls for exacting precision specs.

It’s big
I was not expecting it to be so big. It works fine but given my particular needs it was big and heavy for the items I needed to measure. Still it did the job very well and easy to use.
