Useful but a lot of narrative
I have been a long time fan of tlac books and resources. I found this book to be really helpful like previous resources, but it was a lot of explanation of the why the techniques are great when I feel like (by third edition) that shuld be obvious to longtime readers. If you were not already a fan of tlac, then you probably won't read 3.0, so those discussions seemed unnecessary. The short, compact clips continued to help me the most and the longer ones were kind of hard to digest and understand. I think seeing the high level summary of a lesson in a single video made it harder to know what I should focus on. Overall, it was a great resource, and the new techniques have been really helpful, which is why I still would recommend for long time tlac readers.

Must Have Resource for Classroom Teachers
As a first year teacher, the information and strategies in this book are GAME CHANGERS! I like having so many strategies in one resource, some of which I was able to implement in my classroom IMMEDIATELY. The information and strategies are presented in a well thought out, research based way that makes navigating through the book a simple endeavor. The book contains video links of actual teachers using the strategies in actual classrooms, which really brought things to life. This book is simply a MUST HAVE for a beginning teacher like myself, and for veterans in the profession as well!

This book is a MUST have for educators...
I'd say that every technique in this book is useful but rather than exaggerate I'll just say, depending on the nature of the classroom environment and personality of your students, you can completely use 95% of the techniques in this book--in your classroom, starting immediately!! In addition, my husband, who has a ph.D in Educational psych uses this book to teach one of his classes and he has had amazing feedback from all of his masters level students (who are currently teaching their own classes). So buy this book if you are a teacher/educator, or maybe even a trainer!!

print quality is very bad
This a great book that American schools and teachers really need right now. It's very marred by the fact that the print quality and page paper stock is so cheap. Even the cover design/font choice seems bad. But the pages are so thin like an old telephone book that they fold easily and are going to tear. Super disappointed in Wiley/Jossey-Bass on that part.

Best Teacher Engagement Book
This is the latest addition of my favorite book. I have use this book as a book study with colleagues to increase engagement as well as classroom management. It is packed full of ideas with videos, so you can see what they look like in action. I just bought this book for my student teacher to kick off her career and she is so excited to learn more of the strategies that I do in my class and find routines that work for her too

As an educator for 17 years, I found that I'm still learning new techniques to help me in my classroom. This book is full of great ideas, some that you already know but the reason behind why they are necessary are included in this book. I highly recommend it.

One of my go tos as a Professional Supervisor of student teachers on practicum. Doug Lemov's - Teach Like a Champion – is a practical framework of high-impact techniques, vocabulary, and routines that help teachers drive results in real classrooms.
