Amazingly easy & beautiful dessert cookbook! Buy it! =)
Wow- I LOVE this cook book! I first heard about author Hannah Kaminsky on her vegan blog. I initially bought this book for her vegan French Macaron recipe. This isn't the coconut American macaroons, it's the French macaron that is typically made with egg whites. I don't know how she did it, but Hannah perfected the recipe. My French Macarons came out beautifully. I really appreciate Hannah's attention to detail. Her directions are very clear and easy to follow, so even if you are not a pro, if you follow her directions, you will bake like a pro. She even explains the importance of steps that she knows that lazy people (like me) are going to try and skip. =) My advice: when baking- follow the recipe! =)This book is just beautiful. I love it and it makes a lovely gift. The book is made with really nice paper and each recipe has a full color photo! It almost looks like a high quality coffee table book, it's that well done! Hannah is a great photographer and I appreciate that she put so much time and effort into her baby, this amazing book. The recipes are all amazing! The book is divded by seasons so you can make a special dessert based on special occasions. This book has it all: cakes, bars, cookies, ice cream, there is something for everyone. I'm excited to try the Stuffed Cider Donuts- they look incredible! I also really appreciate that the recipes are easy, there are no crazy hard to find ingredients or fancy machinery. It's something that anyone can do and vegan or not, will enjoy. Hannah proves that vegan baking can be easy, fun, and more importantly- delicious! I will be using this book for many years to come. Btw- I appreciate the awesome price point! Thank you Hannah!

I bought this book for the meringue!
I really like the recipes in this book. I've made both the meringue cookies and the macarons and I was really impressed! The texture was almost spot on and the macarons especially were delicious. I also really loved the five-spice snaps -- the flavor was unique and the cookie had a great texture. The persimmon blondes tasted good but I was not too happy with the texture...the baking window is pretty big to allow for a more or less fudgey consistency. I chose something in the middle and they were still too moist for me.I love how the recipes are organized by season BUT I wish there was a second table of contents that grouped the recipes by type. It would be easier to search! I also wish the index were a little more comprehensive. For example, under cookies in the index, have a subcategory listing the cookie name and page number instead of just all the pages cookies appear on. That way I don't have to flip to every page to find the cookie recipe I want (if I cant remember the specific recipe name to look up). I have the same problem with Colleen Patrick Goudreau's Vegan Table (recipes are organized by season and number of servings so they're hard to search through!).The thing I like most about this book is the creativity of the recipes. I wouldnt suggest it to someone looking for basic vegan desserts (e.g., chocolate chip cookies). I would absolutely recommend it to a more adventurous cook who wants to get away from the same old flavors and recipes and wants to try more interesting seasonal ingredients, especially dishes that would impress at a dinner party. The book is beautiful too!

Great Recipes, Gorgeous Photos - The Best Vegan Dessert Cookbook I've Found
The Rum Raisin Brownies alone make this cookbook worth it, but every recipe I've tried from Hannah Kaminsky's Vegan Desserts has turned out perfectly.Almost every recipe is accompanied by beautiful photos of the finished product. What's more the recipes are grouped by season, with lite, sparkling popsicles, ice creams, cupcakes, tarts, "blondies", cookies and poached fruits for spring and summer, and luscious truffles, trifles, cheesecakes, sweet breads, layer cakes and muffins for fall and winter. There's even a treat you can bake for your dog! How cool is that?I've yet to find a recipe that is off in measurement or wasn't tested enough - if you follow the directions to the letter, these treats are a breeze to make. One thing to note: a whole bunch of these treats call for alcohol. Brandy, Rum, Vodka, Liqueurs, even Wine, though in many you can substitute extracts. If you don't like a boozy hint to your desserts that is something you may want to consider.

Falling Apart
Very disappointed, as I opened the book the cover came off, I flipped the page they began to unstick from what looks like two sided thick tape (I know it’s not exactly that but that’s not the point)But I will say recipes were decent but just don’t want the pages falling out to even keep looking.
