We bought it as a guide for History Art classes. Very helpful indeed.

This textbook was used in my 8th grade art history class. It is an excellent text to introduce art history in an approachable manner. I found myself able to talk about almost every exhibit in a museum years after taking the class and credited this textbook. I purchased it to re-involve myself in the art world and brush up on all the periods and relevant contributions.

An art museum guide recommended this book, said she used it while teaching in high school. It is a great outline of art history through the ages. Very easy to navigate with lots of photos and maps. It has really helped me learn the major movements in art history while also teaching about some of the most important artists and works of art.

I like this book because it is written in a clear, easy to understand style. Something geat about it is that it has a pronunciation guide, which most art history books do not have. Since it is a book intended for a high school student, it is easy to follow, and it doesn't assume that you have knowledge of art history like a college book perhaps would.
