Easily opens bottles and boxes, and is unobtrusive on my keychain
I used this tool for three years until I lost my keys. When I went to replace it, I noticed that the Gerber Shard had better reviews and was cheaper, so I thought I ought to try that one instead. That was a poor choice, and now I'm here reordering this one anyway. Don't get me wrong, the Gerber Shard is a fine tool, but it doesn't fit my needs. I want an unobtrusive tool for opening boxes and bottles. While the Brewzer doesn't have a screwdriver or pry bar, it fulfills all three of my needs (unobtrusive, opens boxes, opens bottles) better than the Shard. The Brewzer is lighter, which I appreciate in my pocket or purse. The Shard's weight makes it feel sturdier, and it very well might be, but after three years the Brewzer still looked good as new. The Shard probably needs to extra sturdiness so it can be used as a prybar, but I don't need that, so it's just a negative for me. The Shard also has numerous pokey bits, which isn't good for my pockets or my legs. The Brewzer's point is less sharp, but somehow the angle still makes it more effective than the Shard at opening boxes. Not that it's hard to open boxes with the Shard (it's a box, it's not too hard to open with your fingers either), but I notice a difference. And finally, the Brewzer opens bottles easier.I wish it was less expensive, but since I get more value out of it than the cheaper Shard, it's worth it for me. I kind of wish it didn't say "Brewzer" on it, since it makes me feel like a college kid (and especially lame, since I mostly use it for opening Mexican sodas) but that's me being superficial. It's a good tool. I hope it's still being made the next time I inadvertently drop my keys in a snowbank.

Lots of features for a little cash
As far as keychain bottle openers go, this is a tough little trinket to beat. You could get something similar in titanium as an upgrade, but be prepared for the asking price to triple (at least). I'll happily give up Ti's coolness factor with the Brewzer, though. And since all I really needed on my keys was an opener, the additional functions are just icing on the cake. The deep jimping helps with grip and the stonewashed finish should age well in a pocketful of keys and change.Beyond the bottle opener, there's the mini pry tool tip/screwdriver, a box opener on the same tip, and a few other things that aren't mentioned in the product description. The mouth of the bottle opener is also a 1/4" bit driver or a wrench if the nut is small enough. The hole you would be attaching this to your keyring through can also be used to open oxygen tank valves, but I'd worry about asphyxiating before I could get it off my keys, so I won't rely on it for that.I've also seen people saying that you can't open bottles with this unless the bottle is on a flat surface, which is rubbish. I just opened a beer with this as I held the bottle in my hand. If you also rest your thumb in the gentle curve along the top edge of the pry tip, it makes it a lot easier to exert downward pressure and control and. You have to have a good grip on both the Brewzer and the bottle, and it will help if you aren't drunk, but it can be done.

Gerber Shard vs Leatherman Brewzer
I own both the gerber shard, and the Leatherman brewzer. I was trying to find more comparisons online but did not find many, so I hope you find this helpful. Both tools are affordable, sturdy, and handy. The mini pry bar on the shard is curved up, which I feel would be more useful for removing anything hardy like thick staples or possibly a nail. Also the mini Philips screw driver on the back might come in handy on the shard as well. Personally though, I did not come across those situations as regularly as what I've used my brewzer for. If I need to scrape something, I prefer the brewzers. Sometimes things that need scraping are more detailed or have crevasses, for these I prefer the more chiseled edge, and smaller size. If I need to open a package or shipped box, the small lip on the tool works excellent. This utility may seem silly, since you could use scizzors or a pocket knife, or a key. But it actually works much better as I have less need for caution since the brewzer won't cut the contents like a knife would, and has just enough edge where keys lack. The last feature I prefer is the form fitting nature of the brewzer over the shard. Neither are very big, but the brewzer is especially streamlined and keeps the shape of the rest of my keys more uniform.Again, for my use, I prefer the brewzer, but please use this opinion to weigh out your own uses and values to decode your own. I would recommend either to a friend.

EDC Essentials !!
MY Everyday Carry bag has a small assortment of gadgets that have proved enormously useful to me in the past. Sadly, while they are all duplicated in my Bug Out Bag, I am forever trying to condense my gadgets into a smaller number of items. I bought this Leatherman Brewzer for just that purpose. It is NOT meant to be an everyday tool, and I think that if you are using this everyday for a few specific purposes, I would buy the specific tools for those purposes. BUT, I find that from time to time, I need something for the impromptu fix, or repair, or adjustment. This is a grand little gadget that fits so very nicely into my EDC, and is securely held in place. Being unobtrusive, and taking up so little space is very important to me, and to anyone who has actually uses an EDC.The product is made of high quality metal, and the machining is of high quality, and something that you would expect from a good name in the industry - Leatherman. Now that I am retired, many of my friends share my interests, I think that this gadget will make a very memorable birthday gift - for the lesser important ages anyway - it is rather inexpensive. So, this unit helped trim down my EDC, I will be buying another for my Bug Out Bag, as you can never have too many, or too many different types of tools and gadgets for the unknown.

Wertlos

Rapporto Q/P Ottimo. Altamente consigliato.
