Very sturdy and reliable.
I use to support an antique bed with deteriorating support. My cats like to sleep under the bed and I don’t want a cat-atrophy. Works great!

Ellis Solved My Problem
The Ellis mini screw jack is easy to use and supports seriously heavy loads. I have a prefab cottage in the backyard that, due to heavy rains, began to sink on one side…most of the foundation is on a concrete pad but I was forced to use gravel and flagstones on one end. The end supported by the flagstones dropped approximately two inches. Using the Ellis Jack I was able to raise the base and insert a series of paving stones. I then raised the other end to insure the cottage was level. Once done I left the Jack in place to insure the leveling was secure. Once these heavy rains cease I will make the permanent supports and remove the Jack. I highly recommend this product as it is solid and easy to use.

Did the trick
I needed to add support to some floor joists in a tight crawl space. These worked just right. A bit expensive but good quality and they don’t loosen up.

Jack First, Shim Second
This is a great little jack and I like things on the level, plumb and square. I've used it a couple of times and been happy until I almost broke my little wood jack handle trying to kick a large book case back against the wall. While I am completely satisfied, I am also a Virgo and a registered PE, Electrical and I am getting on in the years and have never been one to commit stats to memory. I just finished marking the rating of 7.5 tons on the jack so I will feel more comfortable jacking my dad's house awning back up and onto its support. The 2.5:1 safety factor is pretty standard and I would be happy (and yes I would shut up) if the 7.5 ton rating was stamped somewhere on the jack. If you want 5 stars from R2_the_V, you've got to go the distance!

Just what I need to raise a settling corner of a building
Perfect range of adjustment 6"-9", very robust, capable of much more than the load I expect it will experience.

Learn from my bad
I "assumed" that this jack has a tilting head. It does not function that way. Check the Ellis website for proper usage, don't rely on the description on Amazon. I ruined the jack by not having it plumb. The Ellis rep was excellent on helping me get a replacement.
