Amazing, but!
The crystals are great. They absorb water quickly.Tip: It is hard to judge how much crystals to add to soil. Start by hydration crystals, and only once they are fully hydrated, mix them with soil. Keep in mind that once the crystals lose some of the water they shrink and if you have too many of them in relations to soil, the will leave gaps in your soil.

Big bang for your buck!
Just a little goes a long way. Put too much in the soil first time. Watered the pot and came back to see the soil overflowing out of the pot. The crystals really expand! Now I just sprinkle a little into the soil based on the pot size.

Really helps conserve water
These help the plants when it's hot out. One has to get use to the difference in watering and fertilizer needs if using polymers but they truly help.

LOVE IT!
Have used this for years in my raised bed gardens and potted plants. A real life saver in El Paso Texas!

As fine as sugar
This stuff is as fine as sugar. Calling it "20-100 mesh" doesn't help the consumer. I'd used the small granules in bulk from a different manufacturer before, couldn't find it, and ordered this.I followed directions for a test pot, mixed it into the soil, and watered. Nothing. No expansion. If it's absorbing water it should expand. Added more water. Nothing. Then doubled the amount, and watered again. I still had no expansion, but now each grain was visible in the mix. Barely.I can't see how this will possibly hold enough water to make a difference. I labelled the pot so I can make a comparison once I have a plant in there.I decided to hunt again for the right stuff (larger granules, like the size of perlite), and this time I found it. I don't know why that happens on Amazon. I ordered and used that, and had the expected result. One more thing about this product- the label says to use TWICE as much as the name brand calls for. And I had to even double that. So it's a poor value. Look elsewhere.
