Freshen up my washing machine in one cycle

We put a rag in our washer that is soaked with water mixed with paint thinner thinking it’s not that strong. After the wash, the machine have a strong smell of paint thinner. We’ve tried baking soda and vinegar mixed, but the smell still lingers. After a week of agony, I came across Affresh on google search and tried it. I ordered the 3 tablet pack from Amazon. Although it supposed to come in a tablet form, I got mine powdered, probably because of shipping. Anyway, first I tried 1 tablet and wash on empty cycle and hottest temperature. It was better but I can still smell thinner. I went back to google on that same blog, it’s supposed to remove the thinner smell in 2 washes. So I tried again and paused the cycle and left it for an hour and let it wash normally. After this, the smell went away. Even the musty smell is gone. The drum smells really clean. It has no perfume smell, just clean. I will use this every month for maintenance. Highly recommended!

I didn’t realize how much my washing machine needed this until I used it. I popped in one tablet, ran a clean cycle, and the difference was immediate, no more musty smell, and the drum looked noticeably fresher. It’s super easy to use, just toss it in, no scrubbing or wiping. I’ve used it on both a top-load and a front-load machine (both HE), and it worked equally well. The tablets dissolve fully, and there’s no strong chemical odor, just a light, clean scent afterward that doesn’t linger on clothes. I also noticed that the rubber seal and detergent drawer looked cleaner too. For something you don’t think about often, it makes a big difference in how your washer smells and performs. You get 3 tablets in the box, which makes it a great little value pack for occasional maintenance. I plan to keep this on rotation every month or so just to stay ahead of buildup. If your washer’s starting to smell off or you’ve never cleaned it (no shame), this is such an easy solution.

I have a washing machine that has some kind of partnership or something with this brand because it has a cycle that literally states "Wash Machine With Affresh" or something like that. Well, since I did not find said brand at my local supermarket I bought a box of Tide tablets instead, because my washing machine was just gross and I needed to wash it urgently. Well, after I found this product on Amazon and I bought it and tried it the first time, I realized that it does a hell of a better job than the Tide ones.... BIG DIFFERENCE. I don't know if it is because my machine is specifically designed for this brand or if it's the brand itself or the formula that is way superior than Tide, but I'm sold. So I've bought like 3 packages so far of this and I use it about every two months (because this can be quite pricey long term). And it's so great it keeps my machine clean and free of bad smells. I know a lot of people will say that buying this kind of product is a waste of money and that you can make some "homemade" solution. I've even met people that have never thought about washing their washing machine just because it won't smell or "look" dirty (yikes!)... but honestly, I'm too lazy to make a homemade solution and at the end I'm probably gonna end up spending the same amount of money... and also considering that my boyfriend works in construction and his working clothes are very soiled almost all the time, this product is a MUST HAVE if you want to prolong the life of your washing machine and take good care of it. So I suggest people to give it a try... try both Tide and Affresh and stick to the one you prefer. For me, this one does the job.

Affresh y Dr Beckmann 250ml son limpia lavadoras que desincrustan los restos de jabón, suavizante y la cal de las aguas duras que se acumulan en el interior de las lavadoras. Deja la lavadora oliendo a limpio y fresco. Estos productos son desincrustantes por lo que hay que limpiar y secar las gomas y el tambor en cuanto termine el lavado. Son productos irritantes, mejor no tocarlos. Affresh trae tres pastillas (silmilares a las de un detergente) de color blanco con puntos marrones. Cada limpieza requiere una pastilla que se introduce en el tambor sin ropa con un programa de 60 grados o superior -sin prelavado. Me gustan los dos productos. Affresh es un producto de Whirpool, marca de electrodomésticos. Quizá Dr Beckmann limpia lavadoras 250ml sea más recomendable por dos razones: 1. Dr Beckmann limpia lavadoras 250 ml es -obviamente- líquido. Trae un bote dentro de la caja. Al ser líquido, el fabricante recomienda limpiar las juntas de goma, poner a remojo el cajetín del jabón/suavizante y después verter el resto en el tambor de la lavadora sin ropa. 2. Dr Beckmann deja olor a limpio, fresco y agradable. Affresh a limpio. Yo compré este producto porque salían motas oscuras y viscosas al finalizar el lavado que se proyectaban durante el centrifugado por toda la lavadora y estaban empezando a caer dentro del tambor. Los limpia máquinas no quitan este problema. Al contrario, las desincrusta y se desprenden más. El seguro de hogar se hizo cargo de la reparación. El técnico ha dicho que al entrar el agua en los rodamientos/cojinetes se desprenden esas motas grasientas. Después del cambio de rodamientos, las motas adheridas al exterior del tambor, siguen desprendiéndose. Tuve que poner varias lavadoras en ciclos cortos sin ropa. Aún así, el problema persistía durante un par de lavados con ropa. Parece que va remitiendo, si no tendré que cambiar la lavadora.
