A nice story

I’d no idea what to expect but the story was so vivid, changing all the time, characters so real, reality obvious most of the time but lots of surprises also intrigue, to what would happen next! I really enjoyed this book, it was like discovering the new life, good & bad, in fact so terrifying at times, so descriptive, real life suffering for orphan! I recommend this book as it’s all reality, suffering of children, so entertaining, keeps you on the edge of your seat, can’t leave the book, just as it’s getting quite a mystery but you’ve got to find out as it’s getting better and better, you need to know! It’s a really well written book, at the beginning it’s informative and a little upsetting but the reality in the middle doesn’t come to light, although soon after, during a vindictive episode - the truth came out, a lot more by the guilty person! Following on, lots of unexpected things happen but slowly improvement does happen, forlorn but not forgotten, a variety of brilliant things happen, although the ending is everything that I hoped for! Please get this book - An orphan’s journey, it will keep you reading, you won’t want to put it down, it’s addictive, you must find out what happens next, beginning from children suffering family life - to the workhouse suffering and way beyond! Get the book from your library or better still, go on Amazon, see if there’s a second hand one/reduced price but good condition! i like this book and i like her books but i found the bit about the younger sister beng a psychopath hard to swallow oh well suppose her and the employers son were well matched

I loved the whole story from start to finish . There was nothing at all to dislike. can't wait to start next one
