great for sensitive skin
My dermatologist had three samples to try in her office. I've had reactions and rashes from other sunscreens. I use it on my face. It's thick and it doesn't take much. I don't use it on the rest of my body for this reason.

A Lifesaver for Sensitive Skin OR someone who suffers from COLD SOARS due to sun exsposure
As someone with an extreme allergy to sunblocks, I've been on a lifelong quest to find a product that could shield my sensitive skin without causing unbearable hives and blisters. Enter Vanicream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ – a true game-changer that has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. From the moment I first tried Vanicream, I knew it was different. Unlike other sunscreens I've tested, this one is specially formulated for sensitive skin, and I can attest to its effectiveness. This is the ONLY sunscreen I can use without experiencing a dreadful allergic reaction. Not only has it saved my skin from unbearable discomfort, but it has also come to the rescue for many other moms and kids who face the same problem. I've recommended it to numerous friends, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One of the standout features of this sunscreen is its non-greasy formula. I love how it seamlessly blends into my skin without leaving behind an annoying oily residue. Plus, it works flawlessly under makeup, allowing me to look and feel my best throughout the day.Another unexpected benefit I discovered is its efficacy in preventing COLD SORES. For someone like me, who suffers from these pesky sores, the fact that Vanicream keeps them at bay is a pleasant surprise. Now, I apply a small amount of this sunscreen on my lips every few hours when I'm out in the sun, and it has made a significant difference.Speaking of application, a little goes a long way with this sunscreen. Despite its somewhat higher price tag, the bottle lasts surprisingly long since you only need a small amount for each use. While I do wish it came in a larger size or a more budget-friendly option, I can't deny the immense value it provides, especially considering the relief it brings to my skin.In conclusion, Vanicream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ is a lifesaver for those of us with sensitive skin. If you've struggled with allergic reactions, hives, blisters, or even cold sores caused by other sunscreens, I highly recommend giving this product a try. It has undoubtedly transformed my sun exposure experiences, allowing me to enjoy the outdoors without any worries. Yes, it might be a bit of an investment, but the benefits it offers are well worth it. Take it from someone who's finally found their holy grail sunscreen - this product is worth every penny.

Good product, however has a white cast
I was quite excited when I saw that Vanicream had a mineral sunscreen that came with a decent amount of product for a good price. Overall, I do like the product, but I will say that this does have a white cast and also somewhat of a weird smell - kind-of like paint, but it goes away after a few minutes. It's frustrating because I really wanted to love it since it doesn't pill and seems to get along well with my other products that I put on before this. It also doesn't sting or irritate my eyes when I put it around my eye area. It's gentle on the skin (I haven't noticed any irritation from wearing this) and is quite hydrating as well - it doesn't make my skin feel dry like some other mineral sunscreens do. It's also water/sweat resistant for ~80 minutes so can be worn while outside working/exercising. It does have a white cast so I generally don't wear this if I'm going out somewhere and only really wear around the house/exercising outside. I have been able to blend it so it's not quite as noticeable (I have quite fair skin) but for my melanin-rich beauties out there if you have more medium/dark/deep skin tones this will definitely give you a noticeable white cast.

Read the directions
I ordered this sunscreen because I saw people online talk about how it is rather good for those with sensitive skin and/or eczema, which I have. I really needed a eczema friendly sunscreen because I have PIH from scratching my upper body and other sunscreens I tried irritated or burned my patches. However, I was a bit skeptical since there were reviews saying things like there were "bad batches" or it's "just water" not sunscreen. The directions explicitly state to "shake well before use", so I did that the first couple days I used the sunscreen and it came out as a thick white sunscreen. However, I forgot to do it one day and noticed it was, as other reviews had mentioned, like water. After a few shakes, it was back to its normal consistency. Please learn to read what's printed on packaging and sunscreen before leaving a hasty bad review and returning the product. Besides that, this sunscreen does what it's supposed to and does not bother my eczema at all. I think that putting it on top of my moisturizing routine locks everything in and my skin tends to remain hydrated, getting significantly less itchy and dry throughout the day compared to before (when I didn't use a sunscreen). I have to agree with the reviews that say it is a thick formula, which makes it harder to spread around though doable. Also, it leaves a crazy white cast, so I wouldn't recommend this for your face, only on your body. I don't mind the white cast because I have PIH areas and it lightens them a bit.

Best sunscreen for sensitive skin
I don’t usually write reviews but I really love this Vanicream sunscreen. I have tried several others and this has been the only one that doesn’t cause my face to itch, burn or breakout. I love the way it works on top of my Vanicream moisturizer and another thick face cream I use. It adds extra moisture and gives my skin a dewy look. It initially leaves a white cast but it is not that bad and it disappears after a few minutes. You need to make sure and follow the instructions to shake it very well before opening it, then once you apply it, you wash your hands so that you don’t get it on your clothes or something else. The fact that it is thick is not a deal breaker for me and I’d rather it be thick than runny. I will continue to use this sunscreen forever!
