An excellent upgrade to your stock basket
The IMS Precision 14–18g Filter Basket has been an excellent upgrade to my espresso setup. I’m using it with a Breville Barista Express and a LILQ bottomless portafilter. The fit is snug but good — it seats securely and doesn’t rattle, though it can be a bit tough to remove. Once installed, it feels very solid and well made, which inspires confidence. Build quality is exactly what you’d expect from IMS. The basket feels substantial, the holes are clean, uniform, and well aligned, and overall machining is very precise. It easily fits an 18g dose along with a puck screen without crowding. In use, performance has been excellent. I tested it with an Italian crema roast and had smooth, even flow with no channeling or spraying. Extractions were consistent and predictable, especially noticeable with the bottomless portafilter. Cleanup has also been easy, with very little coffee sticking to the basket. This basket doesn’t magically fix poor prep, but it rewards good technique with consistent results. If you’re looking to step up from a stock basket, this is a high-quality, well-performing option from IMS that’s well worth the upgrade.

Upgrade Your Solis Barista Perfetta Plus
If you're looking for upgrades for your Solis Barista Perfetta plus, I have found that anything that fits the Breville 54mm machines like the Bambino match well. I got a nice aftermarket bottomless portafilter with a wood handle that was specified as being for Solis 54mm machines. That worked with the stock portafilter, but I did often get splattering and channeling issues. This basket is a a definite upgrade. For one, it allows me to grind finer with my Breville Smart Grinder Pro. A finer grind helps get a richer espresso with more crema. So that is one upgrade. It also is a tighter fit with the aftermarket portafilter. Splattering and channeling was also improved from the basket change only. On top of the basket I upgraded the machine with an IMS Precision Shower Screen also made for Breville 54mm machines, and it has been a perfect fit on the Solis. IT is also a major upgrade and my gind is even finer as a result and also channeling and splatters seems to be completely eliminated. The first 2 shots I pulled on this were clearly better than most I pull on my machine. I'm looking forward to dialing these in and getting consistently great shots.

Doesn’t fit Breville Bambino Plus
I own a Breville Bambino Plus machine. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that say the basket doesn’t fit the stock portafilter. I’ve finally figured out the problem. Inside the portafilter, there’s a tiny little wire that has 3 horizontal lines around it. This is the thing that holds the basket in place and is usually too tight. You have to push the wire outwards in order to loosen it and the basket will fit perfectly inside the portafilter.

Happy with the purchase
Good quality basket. Fits my stock Breville barista express filter. Easily holds 18g of coffee plus a 1.7mm screen, which was why I bought this. Seems to flow a bit faster than the stock Breville basket, I had to dial a finer grind the the beans I use. I would say it's a good upgrade, would recommend.

14-18g perfect replacement for stock Breville 18g basket
Definitely go for the 14-18g size for those looking to have the closest replacement to their stock Breville basket. This basket is dimensionally similar to the stock breville basket just without a taper. You will need to adjust dosing a bit to account for the slightly higher volume (due to the lack of a taper) but it is a close match. You will also need to grind a step or two finer to account for the higher flow. The 14-18g fits in the stock Breville portafilter just fine, and I can comfortably dose up to 20g of medium roast in this basket. My humble advice is to avoid the 18-22g basket unless you know you need massive doses

Does NOT fit Breville Bambino Plus portafilter!
In spite of being advertised as fitting my Breville Bambino portafilter it was not possible to insert it properly, no matter how much pressure I applied. Other reports of receiving scratched filter baskets are probably returns from folks like me that tried real hard to press in the filter baskets.

As I upgraded to DF64 grinder, I just couldn't make the proper shot with the stock basket. It was frustrating, it was either terrible messy fast flows or complete clog, nothing goes trough. I almost went ahead to return the DF64. But then I decided to try with IMS, since I read it lets finer grinds and has a better flow. And there it was. Complete turnover. It was like a completely different machine. Finally I can fine tune my shots and take adventage of a better grinder. I'm thinking of getting a showerhead too. Btw, I'm glad that I went with smaller basket, since it fits more then the stock one. So if you are thinking of fitting a litttle more grounds than the stock, go with the 14-18g variant. It's more like 18-20.

Perfect fit for sage brista express! This basket is for 18 grams! Dont know why it says 14-18 as 18 works perfectly! Must have for the barista express, makes for a much more precise and consistent coffee
