For a regular home, does this take the place of the P-Trap?

I've been trying to verify this answer with residential plumbing code UPC or with WPC , but residential grease traps are not covered or mandated yet that I've read or heard of. It's coming though. And technically, it should be. They solve a lot of problems.  But... and a big but....technically, yes this is a water seal trap. And by code you technically are not supposed to double trap a fixture, but, commercial plumbing code calls for a ptrap before a orifice/vent tee before entry into the grease trap. So... Wheres that leave us, you'll be fine without a ptrap before the the grease trap. However, there is a bigger issue here and that is the lack of orifice/vent tee.

This tee does a couple things. First, it relieves pressure off the grease trap in the form of head pressure in the case that the grease trap clogs due to lack of maintenance or food. Second, the orifice restricts the amount of water coming in which has the potential to come in too fast. Hence their 5gpm rating. If you're dumping water down the drain, in a 1.5" pipe, that has the potential to run at 20 gpm when you pull the drain stopper and the hydromechanical flow of that trap is only 5 gpm...... Well, that means your grease trap is pressurizing and potential leaks may ensue. The trap can't flow that much water. I personally think it is a bad idea to sell these traps without a vent tee as a business @BESEDER.

Now some constructive criticism/feedback.

I love the latch release. Easy on/off. But, you should put the latches on the ends parallel with the inlet and outlet. Not on a 45 deg angle. This allows the customer to put against the back of the cabinet to save space.

What is the water capacity as I would like to use a wet shop vac for cleaning?

First of all, I want to thank you for choosing our product.
Grease trap specifications for home cooking - 5 GPM, 10 lbs.
At the same time, please note:
Oil and fat are used in the food production process.
Due to the fact that fat and oil are lighter than water, they rise to the surface and gradually accumulate into a solid mass (mainly inside the inner box).
Periodically it is necessary to open the lid and remove this fat.
At the same time, fat cannot be simply thrown into the trash, as this will harm nature.
Using a vacuum cleaner will gradually clog it with grease and break it.

We recommend using grease trap cleaning tablets (12 pcs.).
The tablets should be entered every 2-4 weeks.
This amount is enough for 6-12 months.

The tablets must be placed in the inner box. (see video for 27 sec.)
When using tablets, fats and oils break down into elements that are safe for nature, and an unpleasant odor disappears. almost eliminates the need for cleaning.
Also, please note that the use of tablets increases the performance of the grease trap.

How do you clean trap

We recommend putting a grease-breaking tablet into the basket inside the grease trap once every 2 weeks.  
This tablet decomposes grease, oils, cellulose, removes odor.  
Why do we recommend our big tablet?  Unlike liquid and powder, it does not leak with water and continues to work until completely dissolved.

How to connect 4" inlet and 4" out let pipe ?

Thanks for the question.
The inlet and outlet of our grease trap have a 2" female thread.
Usually, our customers use adapters for connection, which are glued to the pipe on one side, and on the other side screwed into the grease trap using a 2-inch male thread.
In case your pipes are larger or smaller than 2 inches, reducer adapters must be used.
In any case, we advise you to invite a professional plumber to connect the grease trap.
