Theres going to be folks who disagree with the use of these wheels due to the metal grid and potential injury. However, it is the cheapest metal wheel available and can be easily modified using duct tape to create a smooth yet gripping surface for rodents. The one issue I have is that the axles can dry up and cause God awful screeching but adding some veggie oil to it helps for a week or two before the next cleaning.

Used with two female gerbils (~100 grams) who both like to run. We'd bought some plastic wheels previously, all of which had snapped. This one is still going strong. We wrapped it in masking tape, sticky-side-in, and added a layer of sand to prevent their feet from going through the holes, and to add some traction. They were initially very suspicious of it, but they like it just fine, now.

Love the idea of buying pet supplies on line but it really sucks when it comes and it's all bend and caved in. The only good thing about it was that it's metal and can be kinda fixed, probably should have just went to the pet store and paid the extra money for a straight not bent wheel!

My wheel runs with a huge wobble. Not smoothly. It doesn't seem sturdy since the wobble makes it off balance. The gerbils won't touch it- prefer other wheels even if the other ones are too small for them. Otherwise it seems like a great size for gerbils and I received a nice purple color!
