Purchased this to refinish a couple of 12.9 grade bolts after having to cut them down. It did an admirable job refinishing the ends. They still needed to have the threads taken care of slightly and a file to flatten off the cut end but overall I would say its a handy thing to have in the tool box. Stick to the recommended 450rpm max speed though. Fast is not better.

I bought this to clean up the end of a badly damaged threaded bar that could not be removed from the machine without a huge amount of effort; it worked very well and saved me many hours of work.It’s not the sort of tool that you will use every day, but when it’s needed it’s invaluable.

Does the job, seems to be lasting a long time…

A must have for anyone cutting or working with threaded bar.

Save me aloat of time and easy to use

I like this item it works well however you need to learn how to use it, the bar/rod need to have a flat rag/burr free end before using, use your drill in a low speed and have the bar/rod securely clamped as it can easily bite and snag.It leaves a good finish when done properly however if you skip any steps expect to encounter lots of vibrations and snagging.
