Disturbing story
Blake gets asked to go to a small town near Newport RI, to help search for Jo' niece who has disappeared. He finds the Chief of Police, while competent enough is drinking and dealing with the grief of his wife's death. He also finds that several young girls have recently disappeared and at least one has been found tortured and dead. Most of this story is about the search and then the psychological disorders of the perpetrator. It's actually pretty horrible and in " Psycho " land as a story. It's definitely disturbing and Blake is acting without his usual team. Don't read this at night when you are alone!

Strange twists keep you riveted!
When a friend asks Blake for help finding a missing girl, he heads to Rhode Island. By the time he arrives, one body is discovered and 3 more young girls are missing. No clues or evidence is forthcoming so Blake sets out to determine who might be responsible. Wild twists and a totally unexpected ending.

Uncharted
This is the third novel in the Blake Brier series, and is far superior in terms of plot and character development than the preceding two novels. From start to finish, this action packed novel is a page turner and gets the reader inside the head of Blake Brier. Until I read this book, I never knew anything about Newport, Rhode Island and the surrounding island communities. After reading this book, I felt thoroughly familiar with the demographics and topography of these communities. I'm looking forward to the sequel, "Drawback", now that I am hooked on the future of Blake Brier.

Uncharted
Very good read but the ending left you hanging in the end, maybe book 2 will shed light light on it.

Inconsistent
Great book until about 65% through at which point as if in a hurry to finish the story fell apart with a very inept Blake.

Definitely a great 2nd chapter. Really enjoyed the plot. Keep you really on your toes. But what a great idea to forge his FBI identity using his ex credentials . But in the end it worked. Hopkins really stepped up. So he made his mark on that case . To bad Haeli left. He was absolutely committed. But maybe she will come back. 10 stars plus !!!! Thanks, Carl Clause

good character development
I have read the first three of this series his weekend. This one is a good tangent from the other two.It both further developed the characters and built upon the backstory. It was enjoyable and more of a who done it than spy vs spy. Will be moving to the fourth book to see what happens next.

Good Thriller.
A good if at the start slow thriller that has Blake coming to terms of lost love and decisions about his new lover all while being called by his lost loves sister to find her missing daughter. The emotional mix and flashbacks has Blake not as switched on as usual resulting in him being deceived by to all appearances a handicapped man. While other girls go missing with some being murdered Blake through luck and letting his guard down becomes the hero and rescuer. A good story of people’s emotions with little violence in the mix.

ganz ok
Habe mehr erwartet- die Story ist nichts Neues, der Höhepunkt abrupt , zu kurz und einfallslos. Der Schluss dafür etwas lang. Schade, aus dem Plott hätte man mehr machen können.

A New Story Begins.
This story was a real surprise. We dont really know people as this story unfolds. The truth can be horrific when revealed. This is a story worth reading if you like intrigue.

I Wanted Different - This is Different
I mentioned that plots overlap in action thrillers. There's only a few stories and they've all been retold in many volumes. However this one is deeply different from the first two of the series, different but good. This is a whole other story from a whole other genre, that of crime thrillers.A well told story with neat twists and a satisfying conclusion.
