I run a large performing arts venue, and used this gaffer tape throughout the last year. I think it's a great choice! It sticks very well to our painted wooden theatre stage floor, it tears well when applying, holds cords well, and blends in excellent with the floor (we use traditional incandescent lighting fixtures). When applied for a short time, it doesn't leave any sticky residue. I did however leave some floor monitors taped down over several weeks to a couple months through several events, and while it held things in place well, it was very sticky when I pulled it up. It wasn't hard to pull up from the floor, and it didn't leave much residue there. But it was a bit difficult to get off of the cords/cables; sometimes in the process of pulling it up, the tape would wrap all the way around the cord, and it was so sticky that I would almost have to carefully cut the tape off. It also left a Lot of residue on the cables, which also made dust/dirt and hair adhere to the cables, as well. That was very difficult to clean up. That's really my only issue with the tape, which is why I rated it 4 stars. So my suggestion would be to definitely buy this tape, but make sure you don't leave it on for long periods of time.

We received two sizes of tape in two rolls.The tape is vinyl coated cloth with matte finish to be non reflective. The package boasts that it is made with high tensile adhesive strength, leaves zero residue, and is hand tearable.The purpose of gaff tape is to cover cords and avoid leaving residue behind. The main complaints with gaff tape are leaving residue, not sticking, taking paint off of the walls, and being too noticeable.Devek Gaffer Tape passed many of the tests I had in place. I used one strip on the wall, the dirty floor, and my desk, and it never lost its adhesive even after sticking to itself. It also never left residue on any surface or disturbed the paint on the walls. The black matte finish makes it so that the light does not reflect off of the tape, but rather the tape absorbs the light. I was surprised.Although the package of the Devek Tape does not boast waterproof, most gaffer tape is supposed to be at least water resistant. When the tape came in contact with moisture, it easily came off the surface it was stuck to. The tape was not destroyed, so the cable would be relatively dry, but when I tried to rip the tape off, it easily came off in my hands.Overall, I would have to agree with this tape’s name. Gaffers tape is totally one of the best products I've come across yet that has a million uses. I love that it's as strong as duct tape, but comes off clean like painters tape. I love that it sticks to pretty much anything and can really hold up. This roll is huge and a really great value. We used it around our window AC, to seal some boxes, and I use it for crafts all the time. I love it.I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
