YAXI HD25 TypeB Earpads (Black)

Wow, this is exactly what I love about products made in/by Japan. They take so much care in the details of their products and services. I opened up the box, which by the way, arrived at my place at lightning speed (so what I'm saying is that it's worth the extra shipping cost), to be greeted by a nice headphone carry pouch within which was another sealed pouch with the ear pads enclosed with some collateral about their other ear pads. Who else supplies you with that? Not even Sennheiser! I will definitely be using the pouch to replace my current tattered one.The pads themselves are hand stitched, apparently. The quality of these pads are far superior to most of the aftermarket ones you'll find on eBay, and also better than the factory made ones. They are soft, supple, and extremely comfortable to wear. Out of all the ear pads for the HD-25's I've owned over the years, these are definitely THE most comfortable ones I've owned so far. ... and this makes them worth the cost.I did an A/B test with my old pads, which are admittedly aftermarket ones, and I noticed a slightly deeper, fuller, more extended bass response from the YAXI pads. I'm impressed and quite happy with the slight enhancement to audio. The mids and high frequencies didn't seem to change, at least not noticeably.The pads fit quite snugly on the ear cups, and are much easier to put on than either the stock or cheaper aftermarket pads. Does that mean they'll come off easier? I can't say just yet, but if I notice that they do, I'll come back and update my review.The one thing I wish they included with the ear pads (I hope they are taking notes) are the foam discs that a lot of other lesser quality ear pad replacements for this headphone include. For the price that you pay for these, I think they could have thrown in at least 2 pairs of them (thick/thin), as I can't imagine them costing more than a few pennies to make. No complaints about the lack of them since I have an extra set of foam inserts, but I was surprised to not see any included.Other than that, these are definitely worth the high cost. You pay for the quality, and these pads definitely exceeded my expectations.

Excellent product, much more comfortable than the original pads. The bass is a little deeper, a recommendation from my side for this product.

The HD25s are an absolute joy to listen to. But the version I purchased only came with small faux leather style pads on the ears, and after listening to the headphones for even just half an hour, the plastic body underneath would apply pressure and become fairly painful for me. The more expensive HD25 set you can purchase includes an extra set of plush 'velvet' earpads and a 6ft cable; I don't have those, so I can only compare these earpads with the pleather-y style ones.Between buying a new pair of headphones and getting new earpads, I decided to try these YAXI earpads out. I can't comment on the effect these YAXI brand earpads have on 'sound isolation' or any other sound qualities, as I bought these strictly to improve comfort. In that aspect, they do a wonderful job. These earpads are far thicker than the originals and provide much more cushion. I can wear my headphones comfortably for much longer than I could before, and I absolutely recommend these YAXI pads for you if you own a pair of HD25s. However, before deciding to purchase these for yourself, you should keep in mind that it doesn't change the fact that the HD25s are on-ear headphones. The pads are still going to become hot and unpleasant if you wear them for extended periods, and they are still applying constant pressure onto your ears. So you should consider if a different style of headphone (such as over-ear) would be better for you.Installation is a bit finicky, but that's the fault of the HD25, not the YAXI earpads. A plastic spudger (like for repairing cellphones and small electronics) would probably help a lot!I've owned these for a few weeks now, so I don't know how long the ear pads will last, but so far they're great!

I was worried about the material of these ear pads compared to my originals. So far they are excellent. Great isolation and very comfortable. Don't think twice. Just order them and be satisfied!

These pads are soft and provide much greater comfort compared to the stock pads. I haven't stretched the headband of my HD25's very much, but the new pads provide enough cushion that they're comfortable to wear even with the strong clamp force.The build quality seems to be quite good (will update if I ever encounter issues) and I didn't notice much of a change in the sound quality compared to the originals.Noise isolation is maybe a hair better than the stock pads as the extra padding allows for a better seal on the ears, but I wouldn't say it improves the isolation by any meaningful margin. The ear cups are still plastic, which is likely where most of the outside sound leaks in.I paid $43 with shipping and I honestly feel that this is a reasonable price given that the wearing experience is significantly better with the new pads.For what it's worth, I received them within a week of ordering with standard shipping (Japan to West Coast US), so I'm incredibly pleased with YAXI EARPADS customer service as well.To summarize, if you're looking to replace your HD25 earpads for something more comfortable, I highly recommend this product.

Yaxi!! I was checking this product for a year now, but I was not being able to find any real review of that so I was scare it won't be that good....My opinion: They are amazing! The confort added is huge, especially if you are wearing glasses as I do!The overall sound quality doesn't change, meaning it sounds like if using the Pleather pads sold with the hd25.Short story: Get those and your hd25 will be as confortable as a around-the-ear headphone while keeping al the benefits of the On-ear :)

Very comfortable earpads

Like: It replaced my older headphone cushions.Dislike: There are less soft then the official ones.Reason: I wanted to buy the official ones here but paying over 70$ is ridiculous for just foam cushions.Even the official ones with shipping cost over 70$CAD.Tip: The only big difference between the TM-1 and TM-2 is the ring clip for the headphones.So I just added some easy removable double-sided tape and it fits just right!

I brought the special edition of the HD25, which came with the soft velvet cups. They felt good but after a while I wanted a different texture.These are so much more comfortable and makes the headphones look stylish compared. For my ears they seal better and isolate considerably better.Well worth the price. The added extras are a nice bonus.

I found the hd25 original pads fine for a couple of hours but the Yaxi type B pads are like a pillow covered with glove soft leather and the perfect foam density for long periods of use. They are very easy to install, pain and aggravation free. The price is very reasonable for such great quality. If they change the sound its in a way too subtle for me to identify. I think the comfort actually increases the enjoyment of the sound.
