I have bought several of these the price is good for quality. Boxes are well waxed and hold up well to our nasty winters. Frame foundations could use a bit more wax but all makers foundations need more wax. Boxes go together perfect and look awesome once together.

These hives are beautiful and overall well made, one was damaged in shipping and the company responded to my message very quickly to offer to send a complete replacement box. Assembly was very easy and aside from a few minor splitting issues on a couple of the screw holes that aligned with knots in the wood I had no issues getting it put together and ready for bees. The beeswax coating is very thick and looks like it will last for a while. The frames seem to be pretty standard as far as what I have seen, soft pine wood. The foundation is nicely coated with beeswax but is a tad short, all of the foundations had a bit of a gap on the sides when installed in frames, nothing too crazy as far as I am concerned but I have seen other reviewers who were very upset about the gaps so just be aware of that and if it's an issue for you maybe get some separate foundations. Overall this hive kit is an amazing value for the price and the customer service is stellar in the event of an issue.

Beecastle has the best bee hives on the market in my opinion! The ducktail groves fall neatly and quickly into place. The hives are heavily coated in wax. I’ve tried several other brands and it’s definitely BeeCastle for me from now on. Durability, design is great!

Really nice wood. Was quick and easy to assemble the hive. Love the natural wood look and not having to paint it since wax coated. Would purchase again.

This is a great product. Easy to put together and well made. One of boards on the medium super box was cracked when the shipment arrived. I contacted the company and they immediately sent a replacement box. Excellent quality and customer service.

These are the best quality beehives you can buy without breaking the bank! I have ordered 5 so far and will continue using them for my future colonies. Excellent dipped coverage, no sizing issues and everyone comments on the natural color vs the painted look.
