I'm a lifer
I've been using the Brilliant Brunette products for years. When this one came out, I wondered if it would be too much of a difference from its predecessor, but it's not. For the people saying it didn't do anything, check the color of your hair in a salon on a color chart. This product is NOT for dark brown hair. Also, no highlight product can enhance what does not already exist! I have light brown hair, with a lot of natural blonde highlights. This conditioner has given them a honey-ish color, and brought out their deeper tones, so now I see a sort of strawberry blonde thing happening. It does not do anything crazy (color wise) for my brown hair, but the conditioner itself is wonderful! My hair is so soft, shiny, and it helps with frizz. Know your hair. Don't bash the product when you chose the wrong one.

No lightening on black hair, but great conditioner
I haven't really noticed a color change in my hair after using nearly a full bottle of this, but that's to be expected as my hair is almost straight black. However, I absolutely love this just as a plain conditioner. Great subtle smell, and leaves hair shiny and puffy but not greasy-feeling. The conditioner itself also looks really cool - kind of a caramel color with glittery swirls.

Good conditioner IF used with partnering shampoo.
I have fairly damaged hair from bleaching and some poor haircare; but the shampoo combined with this conditioner has made my hair fairly soft. I think I will need a repair treatment for the parts of my hair that are fried.As for the non-fried, non-colored parts of my hair (I am growing my hair out), the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner have left my hair very shiny and very soft. I can't tell if there's been any lightning yet.My one complaint is that the conditioner smells horrible, and that smell does cling to your hair.

Lightens colored or lighter colored hair by two shades and turns Grey's into blonde
I was skeptical when I bought this and I have to say that some of my hair is colored mostly around the crown where I have highlights and some of it is lowlights and brown with highlights and then underneath a lot of it is just the natural Brown that is darker. I got this and found out after using it the first time it did make a good difference on my highlights looking brighter and the lighter dyed brown hair looked more light but the original hair that had not been dyed that was dark brown did not change. I used it a second time and got even more results and was almost afraid to keep using it but I continue to use it and it just kept me with the same results I had gotten from the first two washes. So this will also turn gray hairs into looking like blonde hairs I found my first grey hair the other day and was upset but it took me awhile to figure out if it was blonde or grey because I use that shampoo and I will not use anything else anymore. It totally protects my highlights.
