Very nice, and although it never mentions it it will work with distilled water ans record cleaner solution same as the more expensive one for much less money , cleaned over 200 records and changed the water every 25 records could not believe the dirt that came off ! This is a great deal

Works fine
This cleans my old albums as expected. It is manual and it can be difficult at times to rotate the album in this unit but it saves me time to hand wash them and it cleans them enough to reduce most of the noise from the dirt collected in the groves.

Best value
I love this record cleaner! I have cleaned so many thrifted records. Every time they come out near spotless and sound amazing. This system is easy to use and quick to setup. After each use it is simple and easy to cleanup and put away. Simply pour out the dirty water, squeeze the excess water out of the pads, and leave everything open to dry. All of the parts including the cleaning solution and the microfiber cloths fit inside of the base with the lid snug. The cleaning pads are gentle on the surface and haven't left any noticeable scratches on my vinyls. The cleaning solution doesn't have a strong smell and lasts a long time.

They've gotten it right
I'm bad about buying dusty thrift store records. This little device has made some of my horribly dirty, scratched up records sound 200% better. It won't fix scratches, but it will remove a good deal of dirt and grime from the grooves of your records, removing a lot of the pops and surface noise of old, grimy records. This will make the music sound more dynamic, and even increase the volume of your records. In some cases, it can make a 50 year old record sound brand new. And it will make your newer records sound better, too! It is simple in design, has a nice solid feel to it, and comes with record cleaning fluid. I'd say this company got it 100% right. They have a product that does what it says it does, does it simply and does it at a reasonable price. Good job, Studebaker!

Why I waited so long, I'll never know
This item is fantastic. It's manual so no battery concerns, that also helps prevent damage to vinyl. Most of my albums are from the 60s and 70s, some from the 40s and 50s. They all sound fantastic, most as they did when new. I just finished listening to the Beatles "Yesterday and Today". I bought the record 58 years ago and now sounds like new. The unit is simple and easy to use. My only regret was waiting so long before upgrading my cleaning process. This works, is simple and I love the results.

Good as a rinser.
It looks like a SpinClean and is less than half the price, but is the Studebaker the same? No. The pads, when compared to the SpinClean, are not as thick, use looser-fitting velour-like material, and do not conform to records as well as the SpinClean pads. Unless you are cleaning 180g or thicker vinyl, the Studebaker pads will not fully contact the record and thus push out dirt and crud. I actually like this unexpected feature: It works well when using the Studebaker to rinse records. The rubber centers of the rollers fit loosely, easily twisting in place and coming loose: The SpinClean rollers do not do this, and the SpinClean rollers hold together much more securely than the Studebaker rollers. Roller slots for 6" and 10" vinyl on the SpinClean reach deeper into the water reservoir but not on the Studebaker, rendering it nigh-on useless for cleaning anything smaller than 12" records unless one fills the reservoir with more water—and thus increasing likelihood for spills. The SpinClean reservoir has a clearly marked fill limit line, the Studebaker? No. The Studebaker unit is heavier than the SpinClean and looks nice. It needs small rubber feet to make best use of its heft, something that could have been included as stock. Unfortunately, after only a few months' use, the black covering is already beginning to shrink at each corner on the top, exposing particle board underneath. I expect it will begin looking poor in another few months. Rinsing out the Studebaker is simple, but the SpinClean's bright plastic makes it very easy to see how much dirt remains inside. I bought the Studebaker specifically to have a device to rinse just-cleaned vinyl. For that purpose, it works well. Album center labels see very little water and the Studebaker easily fits on my counter next to my SpinClean or ultrasonic setup. As a cleaner, however, I cannot recommend this unit. If you want a SpinClean, get a SpinClean. Yes, it is overpriced for what it seems to be, but it exceeds the Studebaker in every measure.

Excellent Clean
I had around fifty 45rpm records I needed to clean. The machine does a very good job of cleaning the disc. It does not remove scratches. It was just what I needed for the job at hand. I did notice the pulley wheels will pop out if you are not watching.

This kit is very easy to use & does a good job, i would recomend that you also get some record drying racks to complete the washing day.

I have owned this record cleaning for system for over a year now and I can say it is durable and effective for what it is. Don't expect ultrasonic quality results, but it is high quality for the price. Only nitpick is the cleaning solution, as I would advise using something other than included in the kit.

The package comes with the cleaning base, two brushes, two rollers (so you can change the size of your record), the cleaning solution and two cleaning cloths. Based on my own research, I found out that you should add a bit of distilled water at the bottom of the cleaning base to prevent residue buildup from the solution. Sadly I didn't have distilled water at home, so I guess my cleaning was incomplete, and nowhere in the instructions it is ever mentioned that you need distilled water. But in any case - it works great, and I just wish it had come with distilled water for a more thorough cleaning experience. The record in the picture is over 50 years old, was sitting in someone's garage for ages and it was purchased for $5. Needless to say, it was filthy, but played all the way through with no issues after cleaning.
