Good Girl Complex: a steamy and addictive college romance from the TikTok sensation

Needed more depth
I'm on the fence with this book. I enjoyed, it was easy to read. But i feel like some of the plot was sacrificed for their chemistry. I'm sure most of us like a little bit of spice in our romance novels, but i felt like the plot was sacrificed for it.*THIS PART CONTAINS SPOILERS*There were hints of a great story. Cooper's relationship with his uncle, his mum being just the worst. Mac's relationship with her parents. But i was a bit annoyed that Preston never really got his cummupence for trying to force himself on Steph. The hotel was almost forgotten about. And Mac didn't find out until the revenge plot until 90% ofthe way through. I felt the end was a bit rushed and dare i say it...a bit cheesy. I found certain parts childish as well like the whole "clone" and "townie" narrative.Overall i enjoyed it and it's worth a read. But for me it didn't quite hit the mark.

I really enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed Good Girl Complex. I had read some not so positive reviews about it and had my reservations, but decided to take a chance and I'm really glad I did.Mac isn't your stereotypical rich girl. She has a trust fund and was brought up around a lot of wealth, but she is determined to be her own entrepreneur and wasn't keen to go to college. She has a boyfriend, Preston, but she's not madly in love with him. They're just comfortable.Cooper is a townie and with his two sleeves of tattoos looks like your typical bad boy. When one evening he gets fired from his job due to a complaint by Preston, Mac's boyfriend, he is set on revenge. When he finds out that Preston has a girlfriend, him and his friends devise a plan for Cooper to seduce the unsuspecting clone and flaunt the relationship in front of Preston to cause him pain. What Cooper wasn't expecting is that the unsuspecting clone, Mac, turns out to be the opposite of what he thought and he slowly starts to fall for her. What happens when a relationship is built on a lie?! It inevitably is destined to break. There was some good chemistry between Mac and Cooper and I liked the side characters of Bonnie and Cooper's twin brother and friends. This is a standalone in a series and does end on a happy note. The one thing that would have made this book even better is to have had an epilogue, but I understand we're likely to hear more of these characters in the next book about Evan and Gen.

New series
I swear, that college age drama is Elle Kennedy's forte. As I'm sure the reader is meant to, I absolutely hated the pretentious a$$ that sealed Cooper's fate. However it was also a great way to be introduced to ALL the residents of Avalon Bay, whether student or resident.I liked Cooper, Evan and their circle of friends but thought that overall, the story was fairly predictable. You could, I suppose, argue all college drama is the same lol.Not a bad start to a new series.

not as steamy or addictive as made out
Although it has a nice romance, it just seems like a repetition of the film ‘After’. The steamy is not so steamy after all and seems like a classic teenage girl romance book.

Uhm...more, please!
The whole trope is well used but this is written with a fresh voice. It's entertaining, hot, fun, deep. But...and it's a big but...it's really missing an epilogue. I really did want, and even expect, a bit more.

Tiktok did it again
Easy, fun, page turner! If you like contemporary romances, which I adore, and are a fan of the usual somewhat predictable tropes then this is a no brainer.Huge fan of the characters, the plots, its okay not to love every character (its okay to hate some of the characters) and spolier: there's a dog. It's cute. It's sexy. It's a good romance. Like Tiktok, I Recommend.

Looking forward to rest of this series
Elle Kennedy has done it again and created another series I know I'll love. I really enjoyed the contrast between Mac and Cooper. They have no reason to be together but, against all odds, are the perfect match. Their love story is a rough road, but I loved every second.I loved that Mac is self-made and wasn't boastful of her achievements or forthcoming with her background to the people she was meeting. I'm also glad she made Coop grovel to get her back after everything that happened between them. Elle Kennedy's stories have a way of making me smile the entire time I'm reading. My one gripe with this story is that there was no epilogue? What is that about?! I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.
