Pretty good, could be a little bit better
Like everyone said, order half size down.Rating these 4 stars because I want to love them. Really want to love them, but they leave just a little bit to be desired...Tl;dr- fit like a sock with a sole, wears like one too. For $180Ish I’m not thrilled.I had a pair of supernova riot that had the wraparound skree guard and I freaking loved those shoes. I wore them down to the point the soles were practically smooth. So I tried these as a replacement (they don’t make the supernova riot anymore) and here are my two major thoughts:1- Comfort is generally amazing. They fit like a sock, super light, and the cushion is extra cushy. Flat and uphill terrain is no problem whatsoever. However, since there is no tongue the laces are pretty much directly tied to the tops your feet. That is fine like I said on flat and downhill, but as soon as you point your toes downhill you’re going to feel two things: 1- the upper is so stretchy it won’t provide any resistance/support from your feet sliding forward and toes mashing into the toe box 2- in order to fight this you’ll need to cinch up those laces, but now you’re basically using the laces to support all of your weight sliding forward so you’re gonna have to really cinch if you want to keep your toenails.2- these are built like a sock with a sole with a tiny bit of rock-guard on the external toe box. If you’re going to go through any type of terrain that isn’t well worn trail, I don’t recommend these. Don’t go through any skree or boulder fields, don’t bushwhack. They probably would be ok for a river crossing or snow hike (not waterproof so manage your expectations, they’ll get wet), but if you’re doing anything with the potential for the top of your foot to come into contact with sharp and abrasive things, these probably aren’t for you. Again, think sock with a sole.So for the price I paid I’ll deal with the tight laces when I head downhill. I appreciate that the ankle is tight enough to keep out the gravel and occasional stick that gets kicked up. I don’t think they’re hard to put on as some reviews have stated... it’s a sock. With a sole. If I’d tried these on at a store first I would have gone for something else but I didn’t so here we are!

VERY Poor Quality; soles already split, tabs came off, 6 month warranty expired
I bought the 1st pair of these Terrex Fre hiking boots for my (adult) son in the Summer of 2020. He loved them so much that I bought a 2nd pair on Amazon in Sep 2020 and put them in the closet as a spare. The back part of the rubber sole on the 1st pair, which he wore every day around town for months (no sports, no hard use), started separating 3+ months ago. My husband used Shoe Goo Repair and a clamp to glue the heel part of the sole back on, but they have split 3 times since, so my son can't wear them. My son switched to the 2nd pair and the tabs in the back have broken off after only 4-8 weeks of use - same as happened with the 1st pair. These are very hard boots to put on without the tab - they have the softness of a sneaker but the height of a hiking boot, so you need to pull them on with a tug. That tab is not just for looks.I contacted Adidas Customer Service and spoke to an agent in their Call Center (located in Belize, Central America) just now. She said there is only a 6 month warranty on these shoes. I have never had to return a defective pair of shoes before, and had never bought Adidas before. I am now out $330 for the 2 pairs. What kind of company guarantees such an expensive product for only 6 months?Do yourself a favor and do not buy these. My son's lightweight Vasque hiking boots, which he bought from REI, cost a lot less $$ and are far, far superior.

Favorite hiking shoes so far!
Phenomenal shoes in terms of comfort and cushioning. I have bought a half a dozen trekking and hiking shoes this past year and these are by far the most comfortable, one of the lighter ones and weather proof mid boots I currently own.The reason for the 4 stars has to do with the wear of the soles, where I want to say is quite fast. Mind you I am a fairly heavy guy, but fairly built at 244lbs and I often sport these shoes for power walks with a 50lbs weighted vest 2-5 miles at a time mostly on pavement and the mid of the soles have lost probably 2/3 of their tread. And I want to say that I don't think I have more than 150 miles on them since I have been trying and testing other brands too. And for $200 plus dollars this can get expensive quickly.Nevertheless I already bought a second pair to be on the ready when these fail completely. Definitely my go to especially on colder wet days since they are very waterproof too.

Order Half a Size Down!!!
These do not fit like normal Boosts. I barely fit a 12 in Boosts but fit an 11.5 perfectly in these. Extremely comfortable hiking boots with limited ankle support. Toe cap protects against stubbing your toes on pesky rocks. These perform great both dry and wet. I did the Narrows Hike in Zion NP, which if you're not familiar with it, is a hike through the Virgin River where you spend more time knee-deep in water than dry. These and a good pair of Merino Wool socks and we were golden. Remove the sole afterward to allow them to dry faster. If you're hiking the Narrows, don't waste your money on the gimmicky waterproof shoes and neoprene socks. I have wide feet and these were still comfortable as ever.

Awesome Ultraboost in a Goretex boot
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Never have I felt so excited to receive Amazon as I was today. Right away out the box fly, supporting and comfortable. Planning a winter trip to the Oregon coast. I'm preparing with the right gear so I researched and found that Adidas makes this awesome hiker. These were a must have for moist to wet outdoor conditions. Plus I aim to benefit from the ultraboost and Continental rubber sole but first trip will be the rugged desert hiking trails of Arizona.I report back later.
