Awesome lathe ! L
I was using a lathe that was probably built in the sixties , single speed scary to use. This Laguna 12/16 is awesome, fun to use . I find that I can finish projects in half the time it used to take with my old lathe.

Motor failure
I purchased a 12-16 lathe on 11 January 2033 which is a replacement for the original machine I bought just 1 week prior because the machine would not go faster than 350 RPM. Well my replacement machines motor failed ( the armature burned out) after 3 months of light work. Customer Support has been excellent but they informed me that they won’t have a replacement motor for 3-4 months. I have several Laguna tools that I am satisfied with. Maybe the larger Laguna lathes don’t have these problems but, DON’T BUY THIS ONE.

Sorry tooo much$$….bring it down boys..this machine is simply not worth it..!!! 749.00 is a more fair price look at how much they have raise their prices in last two years…ridiculous.!!!!!shame on laguna

High Quality Wood Lathe for any Turning Skill Level
I just started turning as a retirement hobby and did a lot of research on which lathe to buy. In the end, all roads lead to the Laguna brand. I decided on the REVO 1216 due to space considerations, and couldn’t be happier with my selection. High quality right out of the box. Don’t hesitate to purchase this really high quality tool - you won’t regret it
