While this is a cheaper option for an actual Thunderbolt 3 cable the one I received is fragile. If you are looking for a cable that is going to be connected to a device that will move around a lot, this might not be the one for you. If it will stay static plugged in in one spot, it will probably suffice. I bought this with the intention of being able to sit back on my couch and run my computer screen up to the TV, I needed to be able to set the computer down and move it around. It quickly seemed to kink near the head that connects to the computer and if I move the wrong way it will short out and take the port on my Thunderbolt 3 port also requiring that I restart the hub. It has to be the cable because it only happens when I move the computer and I can visibly see a place where the cable looks twisted inside the sheath.

Reviewing this cable because the ThinkPad Dock cable is too short. This was a 6ft cable which is more than enough for our setup. Cable is solid, comes with cable management clips.Cable fits but does not register the two external monitors. The current setup worked with the factory cable so we know with the right cable it works. Unfortunately this cable with not work with all docking stations.If you have a ThinkPad dock look elsewhere for a replacement cable.

Have been using this cable for charging only. I've only had it a short time but it seems to be of good quality.An IT professional tells me that in the near future it is expected that USB-C connectors will be adopted for charging/data transfer use by more types and varieties of devices. I may have more information to add to this review at a later date. I will also add that I tried to use a female-to-female USB-C coupler to connect this cable to my hub which runs an HDMI cable to my monitor from my MacBook Pro. This didn't work, but it was probably the fault of the coupler and not the cable.
