Excellent
I bought this to use with my treadmill. I had a stroke and the NHS are not very helpful. Been told it's a definate do not use to others saying it's the best thing to get fit. So I've got this as a heart monitor. It connects to the treadmill using Bluetooth and also the phone app at the same time. The monitor works really well, BPM, calories and duration in app but also readout on the treadmill. The readout on the app is colour coded. I put in my age and it works out the recommended heart rate needed while using the treadmill. This is 60% to 80% of the maximum heart rate for my age. Again, no help from the NHS. As I am warming up, the app colour readout is in a grey panel. When I get between 60% to 70% it turns blue. 70% to 80% it turns Green for optimal calorie burn within target range. Higher and it turns orange then red. The BPM is really stable, not rapidly bouncing up and down, and allows me to feel safe using the treadmill for about half an hour at a time. Nice quality and simple to use. Recommended.

Transmits on Ant+ and BTLE
Originally purchased this device to replace a BTLE chest strap after it broke.First of all it is much more comfortable than a chest strap and you can put it in different locations on your arm. Also it can transmit on both ANT+ (which is good for my bike computer) and BTLE which is great for my iPhone and iPad when used with training software. It also can be used for swimming although I have not tried this yet.The app is good and easy to use. The device can also be placed in recording mode to allow you do download a training session. I tried this recently on a 7 hour bike ride and it worked flawlessly with no dropouts or missing data.Generally it is a well thought out device. If you need a heart rate monitor for transmitting on BTLE and/or ANT+ then this is a great piece of kit.

Great alternative to a chest sensor for use with DDP Yoga app, lacking info on the dual connectivity
Great alternative to a chest sensor for use with the DDP Yoga app, lacking info on the dual connectivity!Purchased this as my old chest sensor was struggling and I was getting fed up of it and I wanted an arms heartbeat sensor instead and Polar are a reputable name in the health tracking industry.Primarily I wanted one to use with the DDP Yoga app on my iPad.Preferably I wanted one that would connect to the apple health app on my phone at the same time to record the workout and this seemed to tick both those boxes.Yes, I'm in the Apple ecosystem and Apple health isn't on the iPad.Now, as I hadn't seen this heartbeat sensor recommended in any of the DDP Yoga groups or on their website I was a bit dubious as to whether this would connect ok.But worry over it connects fine.BUT..........Not to the 2 devices as claimed by polar at the start! The only way I could get the info into apple health was to set the verity to the track workout and connect it to the iPad and then when finished, turn it off and on again connecting it to the polar flow app on my phone where it uploaded the tracked workout. What a ball ache and defeats why I purchased this device and I was considering sending the device back as not working as described (I wonder how many have done that already??)So, I contacted polar and they replied with giving me the standard info spiel which is in the sales information.I had to delve into the inter-web some to try and find the answer I was looking for to get this thing working as claimed as I don't like giving up too easily. So, this is the solution:1- Fire up the polar flow app on your phone.2- Turn on your verity sense and let it connect.3- When the verity sense has connected you can open another menu by tapping the 'cog' wheel. Here you can set up/turn on the dual connectivity.4- Fire up the app of your choice on your iPad (in my case DDP Yoga)5- Connect and voila! 2 devices connected at the same time :)Rinse and repeat each time you need to use.Polar, if you included this simple procedure in your instructions it would make life a lot easier because not everyone is 'tech savvy' and for the cost of the device compared to others, a couple of extra lines of print in the instructions isn't that much effort? Or even an instruction in the polar flow app?4 stars overall as the dual connectivity information is lacking.5 stars for accuracy as it seems pretty accurate.4 stars for the mobile app as thats a bit of a work it out for yourself job.5 stars for working out as its good and comfy on the forearm.Decent battery life too and its rechargeable.

As a HR sensor it has been bullet proof
I moved away from Wahoo Tickr chest straps as they just stopped working this year and late last year. It is my opinion of owning two (more so for running), but there have been a lot of complaints about accuracy online. I can no longer rely on them personally but I have been more than happy with other Wahoo products. Also the chest straps can get loose and slip and cause chaffing in warm weather. Wrist based optical monitors have rarely worked for me being equally inaccurate or worse. So I bought the Verity Sense based on recommendations and I can say for sure, wearing this on my bicep, I have not seen one single blip. It is very accurate and dependable. If you just want to broadcast your HR to your wrist based device (overriding the built in sensor) or bike head unit, then I can't think of an alternative as good as this. If you want all the bells and whistles built into the device, maybe look elsewhere.Pros:Doesn't slip and stays put.Cannot feel it once fitted.Gets out of the way and just works.Optical HR sensor works 100% for me (6 months plus) with no wobbles.Easy to adjust arm strap and you can buy replacements.Easy to connect app so setup was a breeze.Good for HR training because of the accuracy.Very quick to charge.I don't really need to wash the strap after every use (if at all to be honest) because it doesn't really develop an odour (unlike my previous chest straps).Cons:Lack of add-on features that some other advanced devices promote.Polar app is not pretty and software could be improved.Would like to see battery status on opening the app without starting a session.Start recording on app did not like to run in the background on my mobile device when I tried it, but I might try again so I can't say for sure if it is a persistent problem.Quite pricey.

Ease of use
Super easy to set up and pair with my phone, watch and Wattbike. Starts reading super fast. Bought as don’t like chest straps and watch based hrm has been patchy. This seems fast to adjust and accurate.
