Vortex Optics Crossfire II Second Focal Plane, 1-inch Tube Riflescopes

I own several high end scopes that i spent a lot of money on. That being said, I don't necessarily like to take them out in the elements to go hunting, so they are my safe queens. When Nikon quit making scopes I needed to find a decent scope for a good price that i didn't mind taking out to the tree stand with. I originally bought the Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 for an air rifle project. I discovered I wasn't much of an air rifle guy. So.......my trusty rabbit and squirrel rifle, an older Marlin 17 HMR became the home for the Vortex. I have always been of the mindset that you spend as much on a scope as on the rifle. This scope definitely changed my mind. Within 8 shots, I had the scope set and grouping less than 1" at 100 yds. I wouldn't compare it to my Swarovski scopes, but i will be buying more to use on new projects and to take to the tree stand.

I haven't used this scope in the field yet, so I'll update later. But right now this is a nice scope. Very clear picture equal to all my leupold scopes and my Nikon as well. It seems a bit heavy but that's being picky. Every corner of the vortex canteliever mount reads torque numbers which makes me wonder how many scope tubes have been crushed. So for the first time ever I used an inch pound torque wrench. I like the windage and elevation knobs. Not the best in the industry but for the cost, they're exceptional. All the adjustments are ease of use, no fighting focus or magnification or parallel. I can recommend this scope.

I’ve taken it shooting three times now, and it has held its zero perfectly. I have probably fired 400 rounds total with it mounted. The outermost ring focuses it at a particular yardage. I can’t believe how much scope this is for under $200.

Great buy for the money! I mounted the scope and love the long eye relief. The lenses are clear and seems good with low light conditions. I bought the lighted red dot reticle for bear hunting so that I can see the dot against the black fur in low light conditions. I can't comment on the durability at this time since it is new, but feel safe with the lifetime transferable warranty.

Good for the money but cheCk mesurememts because you most likeley will neen to use a pic rail.

I own several vortex scopes, binos, a spotting scope, and a rangefinder. All were either the viper or razor line so I wasn't sure how this would perform. This item is very high quality and has the VIP warranty (that I've never had to use but hear it is outstanding!) The glass is very high quality. I used this on a 12ga. shotgun using slugs for deer hunting and it held zero perfectly. I highly recommend this and anything else they make!

I started off with a Vortex Rimfire scope, but didn’t love how thick the crosshairs were and struggled to sight the gun in at 100 yards due to the lack of magnification. I replaced that scope with this 4-12 AO and it’s perfect. The adjustable objective makes the image clear no matter the range, and it’s been easy to hit small targets at reasonable ranges. I let some others take a turn and received comments on the quality of the scope and ease of hitting targets at range.

It has the best warranted scope out there. The one I received was damaged internally . Vortex had me return it and they replaced it within 3 days. Great company.
