Criterion know how to do Blu-Ray releases. I own many and this is the best collection yet.

Nothing else matters much really, the bonus features are no thet many so I font fully get the price of 150 pounds!? Well now at least Ive got the most important Wong films.

There seems to be some issue with the coding which means that the discs don't work on the xbox series x or the PS4, I tried chungking express and fallen angels and both of them only played up to the half way point. That being said they were brilliant films up until that point. I have since returned the box set and bought the films separately on blu ray, I would reccomend anyone does the same if they intend on using an xbox or ps4 to watch these films.I would very much like to buy this box set again in future if this issue could be fixed and the films themselves are excellent but I have to give it a low rating as the films just weren't functional

The master WKW explains his decision to review the color hues of his films. I respect his Confucian philosophy on a 'Man not capable of crossing the same river.' Asian visual culture is biased to green hues, so yes! However, Criterion charges a hefty price tag for this WKW collection and the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. The origami styled outer box is not suitable for shipping. A heavy cardboard outer cover is the only solution, so....a sturdy slipcover please ;-)five stars for WKW films, 2 stars for the packaging

Just dropped on my doorstep a moment ago and I'm seriously divided over it! I love the fact we finally have WKW on blu in a boxset and am so excited to get stuck in I'm like a child at Christmas, however....I don't like the flimsy packaging, I feel as though I'm creasing it every time I open it! The discs are not protected when you slide them out, scratches are most definitely in it's future! The book feels like I could snap the spine with any amount of pressure! But the biggest crime of all? Where the hell is Ashes of Time? It's my favourite WKW film and feels like Criterion have missed a trick with that one.This is definitely a missed opportunity by Criterion to do something truly exceptional and honour a living legend of a filmmaker but as it stands, for the price I paid I'm feeling a little underwhelmed! 🤨

I was one of the early preorderers of this product. Unfortunately, I hadn't had time to watch the films until recently.To my disappointment, one of the discs in the set - Days of being wild - is unplayable after chapter 11Now I have a disc set in which one of the discs is unplayable.Edit: I'm being issued a refund. I'll probably try again in a few months, hopefully, the manufacturing quality will be perfected by then.

This was bought as an 18th birthday present for a film nut. Sadly as warned by some other reviews, one of the disks was faulty and could not be played so will have to return.

Meriterebbe 5 stelle anche solo per la qualità dei sette capolavori del maestro, pure la fattura del cofanetto a mio parere è molto buona, ma c'è un piccolo problema che mi costringe a metterne 4. Escluso il disco di As Tears Go by gli altri sei non sono riproducibili sulle console (Xbox, PS) perché per qualche motivo si bloccano in determinati punti. Invece provandoli sul lettore Blu-ray non ho riscontrato problemi ed ho potuto visionarli per intero senza interruzioni o freeze. A parte questo difetto è un'edizione che consiglio fortemente a chiunque ami il cinema ed in particolare il cinema di Wong Kar Wai. Lingua originale con i sottotitoli SOLTANTO in inglese, ma tanto in Italia non vedremo mai un cofanetto simile, quindi se potete prendete questo della Criterion.I dischi sono region locked quindi assicuratevi di prendere la versione UK che è region B.

...was natürlich nicht nur sämtliche enthaltenen Filme von Wong Kar-Wei betrifft, sondern auch die Gestaltung der Box (Origami), die fantastisch gut restaurierten Filme sowie das ausführliche Bonusmaterial. Einziger Wermutstropfen: ich höre gerne Audiokommentare von Regisseuren oder Filmwissenschaftlern, das Thema kommt hier zu kurz.Ansonsten neben der großen Box von Bergman (Criterion) meine liebste.

The Box in it self is very good as to be expected from Criterion. The qaulity of the films really does need no mention as WKW is one of the greatest living filmmakers. Unfortunately two of the discs (Days of being wild and 2046) are not playable after chapter 11, a problem more than a few people seem to have. I got issued a refund from Amazon so no harm done. Hopefully Criterion fixes this issue and i will be able to buy the set at a later point in time.
