FoodSaver FA2000 Handheld Sealer Attachment

I have the old V2440 model (2003) food saver. I got tired of cutting open, resealing and wasting bags for item that I use on a regular basis. So I decided to buy this hand held sealer attachment and some food saver resealable zip loc bags in hopes that it will work my "vintage" food saver. The hose adapters that fit my food saver are grey. The hand sealer comes with the green adapter. The green plug in adapter didn't fit tight in my machine and leaked. I had and extra grey adapter so I removed the green end off the hand sealer ( had to cut the hose to get it off) and attached the hose end to my grey adapter.The hand sealer now works great with my food saver. It sucks the Food saver zip lock bags down really tight. I can reopen them to take out what I want and reseal them. I no longer have to cut, reseal and waste bags.I am really happy with the hand sealer attachment.

I've used the food saver brand for many years. After a while the sealing was slower on resealable bags. Many years of moisture and sealing were taking its toll. I used this replacement and now it is sealing like a brand new machine. Highly recommend!

These are great but the little greens things that plug into the machine are easy to break off. Overpriced for what it is, but.....

I was grateful to find a replacement for my FoodSaver Handheld Sealer Attachment when my original connector was broken. The FoodSaver is such a useful appliance in our kitchen. I use this attachment with the Ball Jar sealer and FoodSaver's canisters.

Works as advertised with the FoodSaver bags. Easy to plugin and use, and somehow makes a great seal. My dog heads for the basement when he sees me pull this out, as it makes a squealing noise when you remove it from the bag.....lol.

The entire success of this product rests solely on the little tiny green plastic tip that will plug into your food saver.The concept is great - the execution of the design is a major fail. I've purchased this item THREE TIMES in a year - Once on Food Saver's website, Once on Amazon, and here's how this went down.Amazon was great about replacing it at no cost and did not require me to return the item. Very cool of them. However, upon using the replacement, the item broke exactly the same as the first time around. Not Amazon's fault - it's poorly desinged.I reached out to Food Saver, and in order for them to assist me, they want a video of the item breaking, which is already done - I don't exactly video every time I use the item. It's broken now so I can't video it happening. Also now that it's broken, I can't plug it into the device BECAUSE IT'S BROKEN. The tip is useless. Imagine the tip of a ball point pen - that's the size of what plugs into the food saver. Except it is PLASTIC and it its FLIMSY.This item could be really great if Food Saver put more time expertise into the execution of the design - however it is a major fail. If I could give zero stars I would.

This item seems well made. Although it did not fit my food sealer I was impressed with the quality.

This Foodsaver sealer attachment fits perfectly into the port on the Foodsaver Vac Sealer. This is my second one this year. We use it quite often to vacuum seal bags, sous vide bags, jars and canisters. The little plastic tip that goes into the port on the Foodsaver wears out pretty quickly. Over time it no longer stays securely in the port. The rest of the attachment is fine. I noted that the original that came with the Foodsaver has a different tip. The new one isn't as hard or long and is split to compress as it is inserted into the port. But I use it all the time so I'll just keep buying the replacement.
