Success is not what you think it is.
What a great example Tom Van Arsdale is for everyone. He concentrates on all the good he experienced and shows that joy can come from the many little successes. I first saw Tom play when he and Dick played for Indiana. I was disappointed that he didn't discuss his college days more. He certainly had success there. I also saw him and Dicj play for the Suns. Tom is a man of very good character, always showing his fun side and his care for others. Great read.

Great book
Truly another Van Arsdale book masterpiece. Two of a kind, our basketball lives were great also this one is a total combination of sports and remarkable life lessons. I know the concept of typical journeyman sports figures. Most had long and decent careers. Not Tom or his brother dick but Legends and yes. Superstars Naismith hall of fame voting committee superstars. In 1965 the big ten sent 12 guys into pro basketball and the 1970 nba all stars had like 18 guys that went into the hall. Or have been nominated to the hall of fame.Come on mr president doleva of the hall and Mr Colangelo former owner of the Phoenix suns do the right thing and make a special rule and put both of them in the hall of fame. I am sure real old time basketball fans would agree with me. I know many poeple at the hall and lives 10 min away the real Hoosiers will stand tall hopefully glorious night of induction. My deceased dad and living 93 year old Knick fan father in law say it is time. Brian. Feeding hills MA

Lots of fun. It all makes sense.
I am not a pro basketball fan nor was I ever much of a player, but I did love the game. This book is a lot of fun and gives insight into the people who made basketball their lives. Tom tells it like it is -- or was. In a sense, this is a book about how to get along with people. And a book that will make you laugh.

Brilliant personal account of a basketball journey.
I loved this! A beautiful walk through a basket player’s world. How would anyone know this great peek into that scene without this close personal story. Sitting in the arena, enjoying the game is just the tip! This is a great glimpse of the heart of a stellar player. I enjoyed this tremendously.

Tom Van A & his brother Dick are good friends of mine - regardless, an outstanding read!
I liked it all - I've to date purchased 2 copies of the book and have circulated them among friends of mine, back-back-back.
