Q: is the battery replaceable?

I've not replaced the battery, but upon reading the instructions, it does give instructions how to replace the 1 CR2032 lithium battery.

Q: Can it read water temperture in a dishwasher

No, this model is designed to be inserted into the item that you wish to measure temperature on. There are models that can measure the temperature of the dishwasher; we would recommend that you look at model 21462-IJ or the TempRite test strips (8766J). I was going crazy all day trying to to get this darn thing to work. I read an answer in the questions and was informed there is a film over the numbers, duh! Took that off and it works! No directions included.

The thermometer can only be inserted about half way into the case. Can this be right, or did I get a defective case
