Excellent!
Wow! Sid Meyer's Civilization series meets the space genre. Perfect. Smooth gameplay. Excellent graphics. Killer soundtrack. The ship designer will leave you breathless. You can't wait to get a new design built and out into the combat zone. The learning curve is a tad challenging, but it gets easier the more you play. During my first game, the AI whalloped me something fierce. My civ began losing ground in diplomacy, tech and military. I thought I was doing well - the AI proved me wrong. Before I knew it, 2 allied factions declared war on me and I began to lose ground pretty fast. The Combat Viewer is a great way to watch your fleet get its hind-end whooped. But it also helps you to prepare for the future. My 2nd game is turning out much better. The AI is a tad nicer toward me this time. :) Overall - the gameplay is fantastic. Stardock didn't skip a beat. The replay value of this sim is priceless. If you are into turn-based strategy civ games with a space-based storyline, GalCiv 2 delivers unlike any other. Looks like I have GalCiv 3 in the crosshairs next. :)

Wrong Version of Game Received
Like Lance's review I received the wrong version game - GC Ultimate (which is version 1) and not the advertised version 2 Dread Lords. GC Ultimate is so old (2003) I consider that game useless. I reordered version 2 from another seller and threw Ultimate away.
