Great product does its job well.
This product works great, I used it to pass 16 home videos from VHS to DVD. In all of those videos I only had one problem where the software glitches and it stops recording. It was a simple fix, as all I had to do is rewind and start all over.Overall I think it's great as 16/17 tries worked.This company has very good customer service. It took them 2 hour to reply to my email. I emailed the company because the software that comes with the product is out of date and you have to get on their website to get the most resent one for it to work well. In addition make sure you have enough space to record. Passing VHS to DVD takes up a lot of memory. For every 2 hours it's about 8 gigabytes.

Solid once working, a little tricky to get operating normally.
This is a solid unit for AV capture. This makes it ideal for my older game consoles to stream. This capture card has allowed me to actively stream consoles like the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, and GameCube with no issues to twitch Via OBS.It's easy to use once it's working. Initial install can be tricky. It caused low level driver lock several times forcing a reboot to close OBS and the software it comes with for capturing video.Once it is working however there are minimal hiccups and no quality issues for the video.

Easy to use, quality USB VHS to DVD Capture Device.
Like a lot of families, my family has that ONE family member that absolutely refuses to move on to more, recent, technology... So we literally have shelf upon shelf full of old VHS tapes and movies that are getting no use what so ever, as we don't have a VCR (I made that executive decision personally in an attempt to nudge this family member toward using newer technology). So I thought, "Why not simply convert them all, well, SOME of them to DVD or digital format?!", and well here we are...I didn't want to spend to much money, so going with one of those DVD/VCR combo units was out of the question. So I started looking for different options and this USB VHS to DVD Vide Capture Device fit the bill perfectly! Sure there are a couple more steps involved than just popping in a VHS and a DVD and pressing go. But it's still extremely easy to get set up and start using.First impressions of the capture device are very good. The build quality of the product is very apparent and it just has the solid feel to it when you handle it. The kind of solid feel where you pick something up and can just tell that it's done right. Aside from the capture device itself, this product comes with a CD that includes both the drivers for the capture device AND video capture/editing software for both Windows PC and Mac. ArcSoft ShowBiz for PC and Videograbber for Mac. And it's not just a trial version like some companies might include with their capture device, it's the full licensed version of the software and the serial numbers for both are included on the back of the CD sleeve (NOTE that you can also download the software from the internet if your computer doesn't have a CD drive.). The product comes with instructions as well, though they aren't very in-depth instructions, but more general instructions, such as procedure for getting the drivers and software installed and how to connect the device. But honestly, it's really straight forward once you get everything installed. And if need be, there are definitely tutorials and such for the ArcSoft ShowBiz and Videograbber software out there on the internet.Hooking up and using the capture device was EXTREMELY easy. Following instructions I simply installed the capture device driver from the CD, restarted my computer, installed the ArcSoft ShowBiz capture/editing software, plugged the capture device into a USB port on my laptop (I'm using Windows 10) and let it set itself up. Then all I had to do was connect the composite audio/video connectors (or S-Video should you choose) to the cables connected to my device, opened up ShowBiz and clicked "Capture". Then all you have to do is select the device from a couple drop down menus if it hasn't defaulted to the device (it didn't in my case as my laptop has a built in webcam) and you're ready to rock! Simply click "Capture" at the bottom corner of the preview and you're recording!I was very pleased with the quality of the capture as well. It all depends on the source from which you capture the audio/video. If you capture from a VCR playing a VHS tape, the quality is going to probably be a little lower because VHS quality is lower that most current formats. I hooked it up to my cable box/DVR that normally displays in 1080i/1080p, and the quality was VERY pleasing and actually surprised me!All in all, I really do LOVE this capture device. It really is awesome. And you can also use it for many other purposes, not JUST transferring VHS to DVD. You can simply record TV shows and either record them to a DVD, load them on a USB flash drive or just keep them on your computer, ready to watch. You can also capture music as well! I personally haven't used it for that purpose, but it's the same premise, you're just not capturing video, only audio. Good capture quality, software is buggy.
The quality of the picture/capture is good. The capture software is not great. It takes two to three, sometimes four, tries for the software to recognize the signal from the device. By tries, I mean, plugging the device in, starting the program, unplugging the device, quitting the program, restarting, replugging it in etc. etc. I am always able to get it to work, it just takes some time and patience. When the software is working, it does a nice job of capturing the video from the device. I'm using it with an I7 Macbook Pro.

He was very good at making memories
Treasured moments can now be revisited. We have so many videos from the past, it has taken over one of our closet. My father passed away a few years back and we always spoke about how he threw dinner/birthday/whatever parties all the time. Always trying capture moments recording family and friends. He was very good at making memories. We have wanted to recapture those moments and memories of him for a while now. Worried that the VHS tapes (who uses VHS anymore) would be somehow destroyed or something would happen to it before we could switch it over. This little device is absolutely what we needed to go back and bring those memories alive. The VHS to DVD Video capture device has made it possible for us to transfer the VHS tapes into our laptop so we can back it up and not lose it. Small, easy to carry device, but, does a major task. the fact that we can actually capture a moment, with a snapshot, is just as wonderful. Very simple and easy to use, at least for us. The product itself is not bulky, and filled with wires all over the place. Very convenient.I received this product at a discounted rate for an unbiased, honest review. I am so glad I came across this which created a solution we were looking for.

OLD technology with a new wrapper
PLUS: Video driver installed on both Win7 and Win10CONS: Video software did not install on Win7 nor Win10 - error was invalid code. The activation code is provided in the outside cover of the install DVD and the instructions state not to use dashes between groups. The installation files in the DVD are dated 2010 and 2011. This appears to be old technology with a new wrapper.

Initial thoughts, awesome. Seems to work great on my MacBook Pro, includes software works perfectly! Lots of VHS-C tapes to convert!

Instructions needed
The first one I received I never could get to work I talked to support they weren't a lot of help. They just had me uninstall reinstall didn't work.Then the company contacted me because of the review and offered to send me a new one thinking maybe mine just did not work . They sent me a new one received it yesterday I installed it today and did a test and it seems to work. The directions are pretty vague as I'm not a computer whiz.

Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo
Lo uso da un paio di settimane per convertire le mie vecchie cassette VHS: funzionamento facile e per ora senza alcun problema. La qualità è pari a quella (ormai scarsa, dopo 20 anni!) degli originali. Ho scaricato il sw dal sito, occorre fare qualche prova per trovare il giusto rapporto fra quantità di dati e qualità video, ma tutto piuttosto semplice. Ottimo.

Capturadora de video pequeña y util
Captura video perfectamente. La estoy usando con un VHS antiguo con salida euroconector, es muy importante que el euroconector sea de salida, ya que la mayoria son de entrada solo, este que tengo yo es de salida y entrada, tiene todos los pines de conexion. Del euroconector salen los cables rojo y blanco de audio y el amarillo de video. Descargarme en software me llevo un rato pero no tuve mucho problema, el software es muy sencillo y puedes elegir distintas calidades de video, lo cual se agradece para no tener gigas y gigas de video, puedes elegir formatos un poco mas compactos. Y los guarda directamente en el directorio que elijas. Muy facil

Une superbe qualité pour un prix très bas !
Bonjours a tous, je vais vous présente mon test et avis du produit que j'ai reçus contre un test.Tout d'abord, je tiens a souligner que j'ai déjà eu ce type d'appareil mais d'un qualité vraiment moin bonne qui ne fonctionnait pas du tout ici, tout marche sur des roulettes et a ma joie fonctionne sur Mac OS.On reçois notre produit dans une belle petite boîte qui nous présente le produit en anglais ( aucune information en français ) la boîte est très simple et me rappelle fortement une boîte de téléphone portable, ce que nous avons a l'intérieur :-On tombe directement sur notre câble qui est de très bonne qualité ( j'en parle plus bas )- on arrive ensuite sur le cd d'installation qui est dans une pochette bien protégeante-et la notice en anglais.La qualité du câble est juste excellente, le câble semble très très solide et la matière est très douce, ce n'est pas du plastique "brut" qui n'est pas plaisant au toucher mais ici, ont a une très bonne matière bien résistante également. On a aussi la partie usb bien forte qui ne risque pas de casser comme certains produit de ce type quand on le branche et le débranche.Le cd d'installation de logiciel et compatible mac et windows, un superbe point.En bref un super produit que je re-conseille fortement, surtout pour le prix très bas pour la qualité qu'on as, a acheter dans hésitation.Si vous avez pris du plaisir et que je vous ai aidez merci d'appuyer sur "OUI" cela m'aideras beaucoup !
